  1. That would make sense. Guess I didn't know they were keeping that turf for the IPF.
  2. The Utah Utes women's team is coming to the Betty this year.
  3. UND played at Kansas on 11/17/2000 and lost 92-61. KU, along with Jeff Boschee, came to Grand Forks on 12/22/01 and beat us 108-77. UND again went to Lawrence on 12/31/11 to play their last officiall BBall game as the Fighting Sioux...and lost 84-58.
  4. Are you saying Kansas came to Grand Forks twice? They only came once...unless they came back before the 80's. UND had played twice at Phog Allen in recent times...
  5. I believe they are still playing South Dakota State in MBB this year...unless that was changed also.

    2013 season

I will add one more...Crowd support. Getting the Al packed and rocking will definitely would definitely help out. Need to start out strong the first few games in order for this to happen.
  7. Agree...No need to keep comparing to NDSU. Truth be told, they had a better transition and have accomplished more in DI than UND has. Congrats, to them on their accomplishments. Focus on UND. Our revenue sports outside of hockey are mediocre to good at best. Our non-revenue sports...let's just say they need some work. The IPF will help. But UND does need to figure out how to build up the remaining scholarships and raise the profile of our athletics in the Big Sky. We finished in last place for crying out loud. Below ISU, PSU, etc. For being a (the) flagship school in North Dakota, we have some work to do...
  8. Yes...The previous highest payout was $375,000 for the Texas Tech game.
  9. I'm calm...you just have a tendancy to compare everything to NDSU most any chance you get. Just letting you know that not everything has to be compared to the AC...
  10. Exactly! Absolutely no reason to mention NDSU in that post... Does anyone know if there have been any updates to the renderings that were released earlier?
  11. Although I agree that some of the negativity gets to be a bit much sometimes, have you ever looked at other schools message boards? I think our's is still quite tame compared to some that are out there...
  12. Any chance the NCAA would consider having Winnipeg host a regional?
  13. I took a look at some of the latest conference realignment rumors over on csnbbs. Here is a link to the thread talking about potential Big Sky realignment...some interesting ideas being floated... http://csnbbs.com/showthread.php?tid=632127
  14. As many have speculated, it appears Oakland is heading to the Horizon League: http://www.brewcityball.com/forums/content.php?601-Horizon-League-adding-Oakland
  15. That probably explains what I saw on my way home today. There was a flatbed trailer loaded with rolled up turf on it. The truck was on Demers turning left and heading north on Washington...if that was the turf from the Alerus, wonder where the truck was headed?
  16. Very well could be... Guess we'll find out with who they hire. If Gwoz does get the job, then I think it's pretty clear they are serious about stepping it up. I doubt Gwoz would take the job otherwise.
  17. Very sad, just heard that one of the people killed was an 8 year old child. I have a friend who was running this. She finished about 20 minutes prior to the explosions. Thankfully she and the other Red River Runners from GF are all safe.
  18. OSU has fired their head coach. What happens if they hire Gwozdecky? If that happens, perhaps it's a signal that OSU is ready to take their hockey program more seriously...
  19. If that's the case, ignore my previous comments. I knew there was some concern by eastern based conference members having to travel to the Dakota's for multiple games. I knew USD was a bit of an issue but also thought that there were some concerns with the initial invite for the 'SU's...oh well, nevermind...back to the talk about academics.
  20. That could be...I just thought there was something about SDSU having to advocate for NDSU to get into either the Summit or MVFC. Maybe someone with a better recollection than me could chime in...
  21. You know...come to think of it, weren't there some schools in the Summit that asked for and received incentives in order to have NDSU accepted into to the Summit/MVFC? Not sure if it was financial assistance for travel or scheduling arrangements or both. Either way, NDSU wasn't getting in to the Summit/MVFC without some type of incentive for other schools. I don't recall Big Sky schools asking for travel waivers or other incentives to accept UND. Correct me if I'm wrong on this...
  22. Do you have a source for this? There may be some fans on message boards and a Sacramento newspaper reporter, but I have yet to see any Presidents or AD's say they made a mistake in adding UND.
  23. Not that I've seen...There was an insert in my football ticket renewal information promoting season tickets for other sports (Volleyball, Men's basketball, Women's Basketball, and Women's hockey). Each sport had "featured games" listed. For volleyball it was Texas A&M, NDSU, and SDSU. For Women's BBall, it was Utah and NDSU. For Mens Basketball it was NDSU and SDSU. For Women's Hockey, it was Minnesota and Wisconsin...although those are still conference games.
  24. I received my football ticket renewal info in the mail today. The packet included info on season tix for other sports ad well. It appears as though UND will be hosting Texas A&M in volleyball next season. So the women's bb team is hosting a Pac 12 team and the vb team is hosting an SEC team...nice to see some home games against the big conference schools. A&M had a solid vb team last year and made the NCAA tourney.
