  1. Were the Canad Inn's parking lots there or was it open field? I don't recall...
  2. Exactly. The Alerus/city isn't going to buy up the private land and turn it into additional parking space that doesn't generate revenue and adds to expenses (maintenance, etc). The Al has enough parking space for 90% of it's events, if not more. The occasional "large" event such as the George Strait concert, doesn't justify adding parking space. Even when/if UND gets to the point of selling out football games, parking isn't too much of an issue. I don't recall it being brought up in the early 2000's when UND was selling out football games...
  3. The Friday night game is indoors. Its the Saturday game that's outdoors.
  4. I agree about the Omaha location. If UND were to play an outdoor game, even against Duluth or St. Cloud, it would be as big, if not bigger than the Omaha game. MSP has a bigger UND Alumni base, more hockey fans in general, and is closer to GF. Still, UND fans travel well so I was still expecting a bigger turnout for it's first outdoor game.
  5. Here's a link to a pretty good article on the outdoor game from the Lincoln Stars Website... http://journalstar.com/sports/stars-hockey/outdoor-hockey-rink-construction-begins-next-week/article_64d66659-3eff-5e70-a4be-22124f7ccbb1.html?comment_form=true Looks as though they are expecting around 15,000. It also states around 2000 UND fans are expected. Does anyone else find these numbers a bit disappointing. I was expecting more UND fans, at least in the 5,000 range and closer to 20,000 total attendance.
  6. Me and five others are making the trek...one from GF, 3 from the cities, one from Iowa, and one from NYC. Should be a good time!
  7. I found a website that has a "BracketBuster" predictor. Here is the link: http://www.rpiforecast.com/bb.html Based on teams in UND's RPI range and geography, here are the top candidates I could see UND playing: UND is a road team with an rpi of 285 Home teams are: Northern Illinois 290 Fort Wayne 298 Indianapolis 302 Omaha 309 My guess is still Omaha or one of the Indiana Schools I also saw where the home school is contracted to return the game in either 2014 or 2015.
  8. If you look at the link provided, they list this years road and home teams. USD is a road team this year as is UND meaning they won't be playing each other. I have not found anything as far as guidelines but just going by casual observation, they tend to keep it regional and I believe they try to keep the games a competitive matchup up. This is why I believe UNO is one of the more realistic choices for us to be matched up with. EDIT: These are the Summit League Teams that are listed as Home teams: IPFW IUPUI Nebraska Omaha Oakland Western Illinois University
  9. It would be nice to be matched up with a Horizon or Missouri Valley team but I'm guessing we will be matched up with a Summit team. My guess is UNO...
  10. Yep...check out post #1195 of this link
  11. Is UND projecting him as a WR or a different position?
  12. There was a tweet from a Kyle Orgard stating Carr visited Ole Miss in November so perhaps that's the SEC school that offered.
  13. Not really sure where to put this and didn't feel like starting a new thread, but here is the latest "Mid Major Basketball Poll." A couple of Big Sky Teams are in with #22 Weber State and #23 Montana... http://www.collegein...ajor-top-25.php
  14. That's what I was thinking as well. On that site, it lists several rb prospects, none of which have UND as being interested other than Direll Clark. Granted there are other running backs out there...just doing a bit of my own "research" for clues...
  15. Kyle Norberg is listed as a fullback on Edgy Tim's sight...is it possible this is the rb they might be referring to?
  16. I can't prove whether or not it was sent, but it was reported in the media that Faison was going to send the same "every other year" contract that Taylor had initially offered back. I believe it was late last summer that this was reported...although not sure on the timeline... EDIT: Nevermind...I guess "jdub" found the proof you may be looking for...
  17. Here's their website...with an ad for "Wing Fest" http://www.wildbills-sportssaloon.com/ and if you check out some of the photos on their facebook page, you will see what type of "uniforms" the waitresses/bartenders wear...
  18. If there is a waiting list on NDSU football tix, people will pay the added cost for premium tix...even if it was an extra $10 for season tickets when UND is on the schedule. If they chose not to, someone in the waiting list will. It's why UND is able to raise the price of hockey tix. If current season ticket holders aren't willing to pay up, someone on the waiting list will.
  19. Not sure if he would be in the coach or player category as he did both at UND, but how about Gene Murphy?
  20. I was just looking at egriz a bit. One of their posters claims that Montana is still looking to opt out of their non-conference game against us next year if they can get a home game out of it. If this happens, I could see UND interested in a game against NDSU...not that it would change Taylor's opinion on the matter.
  21. To be fair, Faison was quoted as saying he would "entertain" the idea. Doesn't mean he would accept, but at least he is coming across as being open minded about it.
  22. According to Rivals he is a 3 star recruit and has offers from UC-Davis, E. Michigan, and Idaho. There was also some interest from Notre Dame, but in looking at their messgae board, their posters think he is more of a project and would rather not use a scholly on him. Utah was listed as a PAC 10 school that was interested at one point anyway...
  23. What would be even 'cooler' is if they could show recruits a state of the art indoor practice facility rather than just renderings of it. We need to get that thing built! Anyone have any updates on it's progression?
  24. haha...nice article coming from the Forum. I haven't been to bisonville, but I can only imagine the uproar this has caused over there...
