Seriously?!? You felt a need to post this story on a UND Message board in hopes that UND fans will change their mind about NDSU players? I just don't get it. It's a great story, I read it in the paper a few days ago but really? I happen to wander over to bville every now and then and it's crazy all the stuff they say about UND over there. On occasion, very rarely, I will chime in and exchange a barb or two, but never have I felt the need to try to convince the message board what UND is "really" about. Bisonville is an NDSU fan board, they have their right to drink the kool-aid and post anti UND posts all they want. Doesn't matter to me or any of the UND fans. NDSU fans however just can't handle it if someone disrespects their team. Whether it's here, AGS, or any other message board...NDSU fans show up and attack poster for disrespecting them. I just don't get it...

That was Janell Klein. She used to be a reporter on WDAZ. I believe she's in the cities now and that The Weather Channel just "contracts out" for services for lack of a better term.

I feel terrible adding to this thread, but just had to comment on this one. NDSU will play anyone anywhere...except UND and apparently Oklahoma (who they rumored to turn down for a game). That being said NDSU had a great team...the best in the FCS. On any given day they could be an FBS team (see JMU and Virginia Tech a couple years ago). Chances are pretty slim it would be a top 30 team. NDSU would also have a very difficult time playing an FBS schedule week in, week out. But on any given day, who knows...the same could be said for UND playing an FBS.

As usual, a good and insightful post. Thanks Ira. Do you feel this team will be ready to challenge for a playoff spot next year or do you feel they are still a couple of years away? I would like to think our offense is there, but with a Frosh at QB, it's hard to say. I also am not sure that the defense can turn it around quick enough in one year to play at a playoff/championship level.

Not sure, but probably has to do with Scholarships just as in football. Not sure that DIII offers hockey scholarships...I also believe Concordia (Moorhead) plays hockey at the DIII level in the MIAC.

Especially this. The Bison fans have a strange obsession with patrolling numerous fan sites and correcting anything that they feel is wrong. I just don't get it. How many UND fans do this at Bisonville? I go over there on occasion but it's just to mess with them a bit. I don't start arguments about their misinformation, it's their board, they can do what they want. As BIGSIOUX said, who cares what an ignorant Sioux fan says on a "SIOUX MESSAGE" Board???

Might want to be careful here...not a football player, but I remember a certain former UND Basketball player being escorted away from a game...or maybe he was playing a pickup game on campus. Either way, it only takes one student athlete to mess up and we could be where NDSU is/has been.

This is what I don't get. A UND poster, UNDBIZ, goes and attempts to get the thread back on track and several UND posters continue to follow up and then this happens again. Why do some posters feel the need to respond to the bison trolls and continue to derail the thread? Start a new thread or better yet...don't respond. I understand some of the Bison posters are fine and contribute to the conversation and I respect that. I see what the trolls post, but choose not to fall into their trap, I wish others could do the same... So once again, back on topic. I also have a very difficult time understanding why no changes were made to the coaching staff, particularly on the defensive side. I don't want to start a whole argument about firing certain coaches, but I sure hope our AD is paying attention and is demanding better results on the defensive side of the ball for the 2013 campaign.

The ladies travel to Utah on Saturday to take on the Utes. Utah is off to a good start at 9-1 on the season and lead the PAC-12 in Scoring defense, three point shooting and defensive rebounding. Gonna be a tough match up for UND. One interesting side note is that Utah will be visiting Grand Forks next season. It appears it's now official. This may be the end for the Big East. Also creates some turmoil in the mid major ranks. There is already talk of several other Catholic/Private schools joining the seven Big East schools. Several A-10 schools are rumored to be joining the league as well as Creighton from the MVC. I wonder if this may open a door for Denver to get into the MVC?

According to the Schedule on UND Sports, its scheduled for Saturday February 23rd. Typically the game turns into a home and home I believe. So UND would travel to another mid major this year and I believe get the same team at home next year or at least another mid major at home. According to the article, this is the last year. That kind of stinks. This will be UND's first and last year to participate in the tournament. Since we play on the road this year, we won't get a return game next year.

This statement makes me think about the Barry Sanders years in Detroit. Hopefully we can get him some help in the offseason. This team isn't that far off, but unfortunately one of the two pieces (QB and WR) we need help in is a pretty big one (QB).

I agree with that for next year, but Shortell would still have another season meaning Mohlberg or Bartles wouldn't play, unless they beat him out, until they are Seniors. I would doubt Shortell would come to UND if he didn't have a decent chance at being the starter since he is transferring from the U of M due to playing time issues.

Yep, this is correct. I just don't know that UND would be looking to bring in a QB who's going to be a junior since we have 2 sophomores. I would think they would be looking for a senior transfer or juco to provide the needed depth depth.

Just message board speculation and I'm guessing that's all it will ever be. The posters I've seen speculating about this tend to be bison fans. I would agree with Bin. We won't be leaving the Big Sky unless the Montana schools go...hopefully we would be a part of whatever move they make.
