There are some bad FCS teams, is it worth playing them?

schedule more good big sky teams, the selection committee has to recognize playing a good team should be worth more than beating the heck out of a bad team

d2 teams should not be scheduled  either or naia teams

I watched some of the NDSU J State game-it's like a car wreck, you just have to look.   Anyway, nothing really impressive about the game, the Bison played  average and J State was pathetic.   If they are the best of C-USA then anyone can compete in that conference.

What I was impressed with, totally blown away actually, was the quality of the TV broadcast.   Totally professional top to bottom.   We can't even get the game streamed on ESPN+.   At least now when NDSU gets blown out by UNLV and Air Force everyone will be able to see it in beautiful clear living color.

Broadcast / streaming quality and accessibility absolutely matter in collegiate football …

NDSU’s dollars towards that upgrade will pay dividends.

UND and Chaves dropped the ball in a big way going with Midco again … they desperately need to look elsewhere, but probably won’t be for a couple years now …

Well I see we're behind the Bison AGAIN on a move up?  They keep rolling and WE stay behind- FCS where there are 4-5 Teams that can win the Natty and 2-3 of them are MVFC and the other 2 are from Montana AND we're NOT one of them 😂😂😂. Well at least We have Hockey 🙏🙏

FCS is a joke. Bison did the right thing and looked impressive yesterday.

did you watch the game?

Based on what we saw on Thursday, what we will see on Sat and next Saturday did we make the right decision in staying here??  I don't think so? Just my opinion.

You need an invite to move up. I wouldn’t say there was much of a “decision” to stay here.  UND needs to be in line with SDSU/Montana/Montana State/USD and be prepared to make the jump when they do. Absolutely things need to be in motion behind the scenes.

Not disagreeing about yesterday, they had 2 months to fill a schedule and that is what you get.   It took us almost 20 years to be able to compete on the same field with them I don't want it to be 2045 before we are even with them or surpass them.

2 months thing doesn't matter......the midget and the madmen of cass couty don't realize (or they did and are lying to their sycophants) that teams like JAX state are what you are getting in g6 football....they will play kansas state (like they did in 1aa) on the road (like they did in 1aa) but G6 home games will be a rotation of jax state, delware, appy state, coastal carolina and sam houston

do those teams look familiar!????

Which garbage will be better our non conference or theirs??  On a side note I don't think USD needs to be part of anything we do.  Up until a couple of years ago they were a bottom feeder for 3 decades.

Jax St won 9+ games the past 3 seasons after moving up from FCS. Definitely not the LIU of Conference USA

non conf is what it is ...you can control that...chavez seems to like the pioneer league and schools in sapranoville, NY....

it's the conf taht matters and there aint much differnece between the mvfc and the current mwc ....but in 5 years it'll be tipped even more when Gloria loses af, unlv, and new mexico....

i for one would love chavez to just f it and go with four `1a payday road games at Kansas, Kansas State, Ok State, and North Texas....win 3 out of 4...2 out of 4...all of em!!! and take those couple milly and reinvest it into the program without KEM knowing.....or approving

Wouldn’t mind the flagship Dakotas in C-USA. Schedule bison non-con in football and hoops.

Jax State

Fordham

@ Sac State

@ San Jose State

——

LIU

St. Thomas

@ Portland State

@ Nebraska

Sac State lost by 11 to EMU. Nebraska by far the best of the 8. Pick em. Nobody thinks LIU is better than Jax State, but also talking two bad teams. Is Sac State really that much better than Portland State?

SU paid $17.5M to move up and an estimated increase to fb budget of $8M/year.  Over 10 years thats an extra $97.5M, assuming the yearly costs won't go up which isn't realistic.

Where (or who) do you think that money would come from for UND football?

Same place it’s coming from for NDSU. UND is raising over 100 million a year during their Forever UND campaign. Will soon again overtake NDSU will their endowment. UND has donors - need someone who can sell the athletic vision like they have on the academic side.

Not sure what the payback is for slots outside of Vegas but there it is around 90%.

If you ignore expenses, that'd mean you need a handle of just under $1B over those 10 years to clear $97.5M  Good luck with that
