As we all know, anybody can be beat in this tournament. Especially if it's Holy Cross vs. Minnesota! :p

Honestly, I haven't seen this in the threads. We've beaten them this season and while I absolutely can see them winning the whole thing, I'm feeling good about our chances against anyone, including DU.

IMO the scariest team in this whole tournament is Duluth.

I like Duluth, but still think they are an average defensive team. The main thing they have going for them defensively is their system. They have always played that grinding pace that is huge in the tournament. Plug the middle and be tenacious on the forecheck. Having played them 5 times this year, we absolutely dominated in our two wins, had two games where they were pretty even, and they took it to us a couple weeks ago. When we're at our best, I'd pick no one else.

Sorry to say it, but we can win a national title and ESPN will still talk about McKenna, Penn State, Michigan and the Big 10 more than us. We're a niche sport, my friend. Those who know the game will not be surprised when we take home the title 😁

Good point.

I want to keep the Natty in the NCHC, but I would rather have either us or WMU win it. Duluth and Denver are little pests that need to be swatted. :p

Oh I'm HIGHLY against anyone from the NCHC winning a title other than us. WMU going back to back would be obnoxious. If it's not UND, I want no one that is connected to us at all lol. Never been a "conference" guy. I know the NCHC is the best conference, therefore I see no need to prove it to anyone. I want our rivals to lose lol.

I actually like WMU. Their "Lawson Lunatics" remind me of the student section in the Old REA.

I agree that if we are at our best, we will win.

I think in this instance, you mean guys’ as in plural.  Guy’s would mean one particular guy, and if that’s the case, Team NoDak is in trouble.

Wouldn't matter if Nodak was undefeated and had had the next Gretzky. ESPN and national media would still downplay them and talk how great some mediocre Atlantic Hockey team was. I too get salty come tourney time.

UND played Moscow Dynamo in the 1988-1989 season.  Dynamo was NHL-style good (and professional). And a feeder team for the USSR National Teams.  Just a year later they played in the Super Series vs NHL teams

The only game I can recall not being dissatisfied with a loss. 

I was there for that one too.  Justin Duberman had the best game of his career that night.  

Side note:  one of the Dynamo goalies that game was none other than Vladimir Myshkin.  I don’t believe he was the starter though.
