I have heard that as well. The Gophs fired their women's coach so who know if Motzko is next. I did hear an interesting and different rumor over the weekend as to who the next coach at Minnesota would be. Also a former SCSU Huskie.

Wouldn't be surprised if Matt Cullen would be hired.

It’s already out there…rumors started circulating a while back. Yesterday they started getting heavy. Bucci basically confirmed a little bit ago.

I heard a couple weeks ago that Motzco had started telling folks he was done. I guess the death of his son has taken a toll on him and he didn’t have the energy anymore. I’ve always respected him, he did some great things at Cloud. Tough assignment. Good luck in retirement!

When St. Cloud was in prep mode for the NCAA tourney in 2018 wasn't it pretty well known that Bob was going to be taking over the gophers coaching job? 

Then they laid in egg in the first round which was fun to watch.

Say what you want about Bob Motzko as a head coach, I’m not sure I’d have the heart to continue coaching as long as he did after losing his son.  I don’t like the Gophers and his decision-making at the World Junior Tournament in December/January had me scratching my head, but I wish him the best moving forward from Minnesota.

100% agree.  Watching Ziemer and Mooney hog first line minutes with fourth line performance at the WJT told me he was catering to his Gopher players because things were not well in the Minnesota locker room.
