In this era now do we still count him and any other player as former UND to be the NHL on the wall in the team area at the Ralph?

I do not believe any player has as of yet transferred FROM UND and then gone on to appear in an NHL game, Sasha Boisvert appears to be a first in this programs history.

The CHN almanac lists players such as Jason Blake and Isaac Howard with a notation of both teams played for in their list of former NCAA players to have appeared in the NHL.

Trivia time... there's only been in the history of the NCAA about 15 or so players to have done this... the list will grow exponentially into the future but rather a rare feat as of now.

So, I would say Boisvert would be on the growing list of the UND program's claim of having, at this time, the second most former players to have played in the NHL (UMtc still has the most)

Sasha may be on a much smaller list, or potentially, the only player in NCAA history to have reached the NHL after playing for 2 programs and have been rolled by a couple of frat boys

With TJ I haven't seen Northeastern claim anything about him once he left, but Arizona State has posted about TJ signing like UND did.

Sasha may be on a much smaller list, or potentially, the only player in NCAA history to have reached the NHL after playing for 2 programs and have been rolled by a couple of frat boys

Does Omaha claim Seeler?

Boisvert finished the year with us, we should half-heartedly claim him. Hope for his sake he grows up and doesn't waste the gift he's got.

A desperate attempt to avoid getting the BU version of him?

An attempt to sell him to Chicago fans as a UND forward (in the pattern of Troy Murrray, RIP, and Jon Toews).

Even with their progress the Blackhawks still have to sell hope.

Please don’t give him #19.

I give Boisvert very low odds of lasting very long in the NHL.

I don’t know, I think the talent is there, but maybe some humility and attitude adjustment could do wonders.

Sometimes the environment and different voices can make a difference, as well as the realization that something you have worked toward for a long time is slipping away and if you don’t change your course you will be destined for a career overseas instead of the NHL.

Don’t know if some maturity can change that or not, but sometimes a stark reminder that you are no longer the elite of the elite can force an attitude change.  Time will tell if he has it in him.

Parise knows my memory has taken leave, but was Boivert’s attitude criticized much around here before he decided to leave?

I don't think he had an attitude problem while here at UND. He could've been coddled under Berry and when a new coach doesn't do that, you get a negative outcome.

No, and other than his problem after the season I would have loved to have him back.  Adversity sometimes reveals a lot, and when the season at BU wasn’t panning out like many had thought, it seems like he had one foot out the door, much like Perron at UND.  Even that is perception, as I am basing his talent shown at UND to the production on the ice of a very talented offensive team at BU.  Seems like he wasn’t the only one though.

A certain fraternity would disagree that he doesn't have an attitude problem.

Or perhaps it was a 'failure to communicate' - see 'Cool Hand Luke'

A certain fraternity within the UND community?  If so, they should step up and declare

Boisvert had a run in with fraternity members at a party after the season where he was required to go to court because of a fight.

That's not even a decent comparison. You know how many people get in fights with "frat bros"? They are the most entitled people on campus.

Dyou think he wanted out because Berry was canned or was it other factors?

I am pretty sure it was due to Berry being canned. It was well known that Berry was a huge part of his development and the reason he came to UND.

I’m guessing it wasn’t the chair of the English department.
