All but one team in the tournament, as we await Gentry and WBL tonight.

Seeding wise AA I'll say:

Hibbing takes game one over Dodge County in fairly dominant fashion.  Gosh darnit watching this tournament, even the 1st day of Class A, is on a different level.

What do you mean different level? Grand Forks Central took out the number two AA team for Minnesota.

I love GF too, but that was one game.  The lake conference for example is a different animal than anywhere else.  They sent 2 teams to State and had 5 teams in the top 13 in the rankings.

Are those the teams that the aviators last few years beat up on?

I went back through the last couple years on myhockeyrankings...looks like Lake Conference and Moorhead were the teams that gave them games in Bantam AA the last 2 years with wins and losses both ways and different 1 year vs the other

Mahtomedi is always a scary team down at the Sino. That coach knows how to get his players ready and compete. Hopefully Hibbing doesn’t overlook them Friday or they’ll get beat like they did last year vs the grease.

Hibbing kind of went through the motions the first half of the game before getting rolling late in the second period.  They have some playmakers, but will have to grind like heck against the Zephs.

Thinking Delano with a walk in the park tonight against the Section 3A representative, and Warroad a 5-1 winner over Northern Lakes.

I’ve noticed watching North Dakota and Minnesota games on tv that most of the music played in the arenas is 80’s music.  Is that because the people in charge of those things have an infinity for that era, or is that common across sports period?

They always play a solid schedule with AA competition and they do the same in youth as well. Believe they are still the largest class A school in the state so I never consider them some plucky underdog.

Warroad's starting goalie left the section championship game with a back injury and reportedly is out for the state tournament. I still think they beat Northern Lakes as the senior backup has played 6-7 games this year and the same last year and been solid but big spot to step into.

Probably because there isn't much good music made after 1989.:D
