The only potential game without last change is the national championship if we play Michigan. Quote
SIOUXELEVENS Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago May have last change but you still need to pay D. Quote

My bad on Providence...but UMD has zero chance of being #6. https://www.collegehockeynews.com/ratings/probabilityMatrix.php Quote
siouxweet Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago This last change thing is overrated. Just look at all the lower seeds that have won games over the years. 1 Quote

That said, it can be an advantage for important faceoffs and against teams with a dominant line. Didn’t help against the Plantes last night, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a good tool to use, and I’m sure good game coaches utilize it when they can. And because it’s the coach’s responsibility not the players’, it is not something they even need to think of. Quote

(Yes, it will be #15, and #1 will play #16) Also, means #7 will be in our regional, most likely Providence. I disagree with those who think the brackets will be rearranged for attendance and travel considerations. The committee should and will honor bracket/NPI rating integrity, otherwise why bother doing it. I like your optimism but to believe this is a 100% guarantee is incorrect. Once they have their 1v16 matchup, The committee treats the seeing in groups. For example: they are willing to swap around 14/15 13/14 because they are all 4 seeds Same goes for 9/10 10/11 11/12 since those are all 3 seeds. They will absolutely swap 1-2 spots for sake of attendance as long as they keep the teams in their banded seeds. They’ve done it before and they’ll do it again to get 1/4 full rinks up to 1/3 full haha Quote

I think they will honor that purpose UNLESS it results in a repeat of a first-round conference matchup. I'm good with that. Placing a host school at their regional site is pure bullsh*t and the best reason to do away with regional sites and go to home schools based on NPI rating (hopefully next year). I hope we avoid that bullsh*t this time around. 2 Quote
Dustin Posted 50 minutes ago Posted 50 minutes ago If these are the teams in consideration for the 4 seeds, you can't tell me that there's enough NPI difference to not swap St. Thomas (over UConn) to Sioux Falls for attendance purposes. Quote
Dustin Posted 38 minutes ago Posted 38 minutes ago To expand my point, switching around any of the teams encircled in black for attendance purposes would be acceptable. Quote
jk Posted 12 minutes ago Posted 12 minutes ago No data to back this up, but I feel like they've been sticking to bracket integrity more in recent years, with the exception of first round conference matchups. Those look to not be much of an issue this year, with just an 8-9 ECAC match to deal with, and the NPI still has some wiggles left. Quote
Kab Posted 1 minute ago Posted 1 minute ago Watched the basketball selection show there is no sending a school to the closest site, they send them all over the country , pretty much based on the power rating Quote
