The $500+ million Western barn in Kalamazoo is scheduled to open in 2027. Will rival the Ralph as the premier venue for college hockey in the USA.

Out of the 5 times Van Andel Arena has hosted WMU 3 and Michigan 2

With all 3(WMU, UM, and MSU) being not too far away from Grand Rapids, I'm surprised there isn't a competition to host there.

The Kalamazoo Event Center will definitely be a great place to watch hockey. Seating capacity is 6500. I wouldn’t go as far as to say that it will rival the Ralph. 550 million includes a practice sheet of ice, 2 practice basketball courts, event space and the main arena.

What should happen is all the schools in the West that want to host get together in a smoke filled back room and agree to only bid with their arenas and force the hand. The problem is no arenas in the West big enough there is the solution.

WMU was 4 Michigan hosted the first 16 regional at Yost.

I had hope in college hockey fans, than the one in the East showed up out of nowhere. 

With how they are acting just think if the games were at Lawson, Munn, REA, and USA hockey Arena (Yost doesn’t have the lockers). They’d be complaining even more about having to go West.

Well, if we can have 2023 regionals in Fargo, New hampshire, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania then why not

I think most western teams would like to see #1 Seeds hosting in their own arena.  What needs to happen is a couple 1 seeds east teams need to get shipped out west where Denver or UND is hosting and DU and UND advance out of the regional. 

I love seeing all the Eastern Fans and Media complaining about having to get shipped out West, when it is probably the most fair bracket in long time as it follows the NPI rankings with the exception of one switch to avoid a interconference 1 round match up.
