Not commenting on officiating overall, but there definitely was a difference in that hit vs the major that was called. Funny thing is the difference is the major point and is absolutely opposite of what the color guy tried arguing. Color guy tried saying "may have been even worse, as head hit the glass". Most rulebooks and higher penalties often associated with hits that are initiated further from the dasher, sending the player on the receiving end that sends them head first into the glass, often at a more dangerous velocity with no chance to protect themself. The crown of the head hitting the boards with the feet taken out is much more dangerous than the face smacking the glass from a hit.
