Really want Menghini to do well with him being a lifelong Sioux fan but nobody has done less with their ice time than him unfortunately.

Really thought he would be a difference maker this year based on his output at Duluth and power play success and watching him against us.  I wonder if part of that is who fed him on the power play.
That said, he is pretty responsible, and is a good fit for our 4th line, and hopefully he starts to finish in the second half.  If he would have his head up a little more, his speed has created opportunities to feed his linemates on rushes, but everyone can’t have the vision of Swanson.
Having a fourth line that can hit and skate sure makes it tough on our opponent though, being able to roll them out consistently, which may be helping out our third period success.  Still very happy to have him, and think he will produce a bit more going forward.

The u18’s were not impressive. However, I was watching from a suite so did not get to watch too closely.

were any of the players we were hyperventilating about during their recruiting cycle (Berchild, Bueker especially, Cullen perhaps) look legitimate?

Cullen tried his best to be a goon, trying to get under the players skin. He found out that it didn’t work. I liked Marthaler (sp?). He is pretty good.

Can’t believe there were a few ledgies that popped their head up in the 1st period of an exhibition game. We sat a ton of guys and yes weren’t super sharp early but chill guys, consider the context

Ledgies need to be up there to feel whole and will head to the elevators on moments notice.

It’s fun. This team has struggled out of the gate at times. That has cost them games. Fair criticism doesn’t make you a ledgie. Calling for Dave’s job or benching Homer, because the defense can’t defend, would be ledgie behavior.

It’s not fair criticism, it’s a knee jerk reaction to an exhibition where the team is testing new line combos/players/PP & PK units. For anyone paying attention it’s not surprising it took a period to settle in before steamrolling them(while rotating goalies).  All while trying to escape without injuries so it’s not a normal game. Especially when that hard checking, playing on the edge is the identity of this team

Francisco looks like a legitimate piece on the back end that Notre Dame stole from Minnesota Duluth territory. Not many impressive guys on that team. Cullen will be very good when fully healthy, Nelson didn't have a great night but he's going to be very good in the NCAA at Notre Dame.

A Ledgie, by any other name, would sound as sad.
