I lived in Denver for many years. The town is hockey nuts for the Avalanche and really don’t care much about the small private College team. Also, the place is full of California/west coast types who care very little for the sport.

I lived in the Denver metro area from 1996-2015 (Littleton, Lakewood, and Parker) and me personally, if I wasn’t a CC alum I’d take DU Pioneer season tickets over Avs games any day of the week but that’s just a personal preference. Between the high cost of everything at Avs games ($17.50 for a beer, $20 for parking, plus the high cost of tickets and hassle driving downtown) and just how much fun games are at Magness, especially UND games, I’ll take Pios games over Avs e every time.

Yup, me too, but we aren’t speaking for Denverites today. They love their “Lanch” as much as their Broncs.

Yeah, very proud. I wasn't a Flyers fan at all. Being a Boston Bruins fan, I despised that franchise; however, I have come to appreciate it. My wife just bought me the hat and t-shirt. Last December, we went to a Flyers game in Anaheim, and it was a fabulous place to watch a game. I also attended the Jets-Flyers game last March. I plan on going again this April. The Flyers have a lot of nice young players, and I feel that they're building a team for the future. Bobby's linemates, Tyson Forrester and Noah Cates, are put out to check the opposition's top line. I really like the Cates kids' game.

As a Bruins fan, that orange road flare of a jersey makes me want to upchuck.  Good for your nephew though.

I always said that he got his talents from the Brink side of the family, I think he gets his temper from his mother.

I have seen Shaugabay play in high school quite a few times. Him and the Slukynskys were almost unstoppable. You have to think Brad Berry is still employed if he doesn’t whiff on those three. Were any of them recruited by UND? Being Oshie’s cousin, Shaugabay seems like he would have had UND written all over him.

He had a nice game last night, a goal, a helper and the finisher in the shootout.

The 5 minute overtime period was off the charts insane last night.

Pretty sure it has been discussed on here before: Jay Hardwick (Warroad head coach) being a UMD guy steered Shaugabay to UMD, plus it was speculated that Sandelin recruited Shaugabay earlier on than Berry did

Unfortunately, I didn't get to watch that game last night. From the highlights, it looked like a fun game to watch.  Yeah, awesome that the Pens lost, so that's a win for sure. :)

Also learned last night that in the NHL if a player(Malkin) jumps off the bench on a delayed penalty call and scores while the Goalie is still 80-90 feet from the bench(still at blueline closest to his net on the long change) the goal does not count but it is not a penalty for too many men on the ice????

I yeah, there were a few people talking about that on X last night.

This happened in a UND game also, well not the scoring part

Berry was lazy and wanted to use the portal to solve his problems over finding hs talent.

What's done is done, and I'm sure it happens a lot, but isn't that some sort of recruiting violation by a booster?

Don't think Hardwick did anything against NCAA rules. minor/HS/prep/junior coaches with ties to NCAA programs like steering their guys in certain directions, easier when a relationship exists between the NCAA program and the coach at the lower levels.

PREDICTION:

UMD wins 4-2 on Friday night with an empty netter.

Fighting Hawk Sports dot com goes into a tizzy when suddenly the #FireJax movement begins after a tough loss at home. Things get even crazier when the #FireBerry people see this and realize they made a mistake and shouldn't have gotten him fired and they start yelling at the #FireJax people...but that only makes the #FireHak people even more upset and this forum devolves into people typing in all caps at each other until Saturday...

...When UND wins 3-1 for a split in the series. TA detente settles over Fighting Hawks Sports dot com...things are happier and is much calmer and most agree they overreacted.

You heard it here first.

PS: Does anyone know what Bryn Chyzyk's middle name is? I hope it has some vowels because he is severely lacking in them. Poor guy, I feel bad for him.

It's a Biddie sighting! I don't think I could argue anything in your post -  but it's Siouxsports.com.
