shep Posted Sunday at 03:32 AM Posted Sunday at 03:32 AM So...the alleged full service at the Playmakers did not occur. Just a great way to not make money and the Tavern was wors, How can they allow for a captive audience go home because they have 2 bartenders in the whole place? 1 Quote
forksandspoons Posted Sunday at 04:31 AM Posted Sunday at 04:31 AM One thing I will add: eventually, UND will need to connect on some deep balls Quote

We couldn’t get a drink at playmakers, walked right up to the bar at taverns. One blackjack table in playmakers too, said they wished they had dealers to open more. Could have filled every table, crazy Quote

At least the second year they've had fireworks for the opener. A lot of people missed out. 9 minute long display. Me being a certified pyro (😁) I made sure to get a front row seat. They do an impressive job! Even better when you can enjoy them from 50 yards away. Don't miss out next year! 2 2 Quote

Great atmosphere I go to 1 or 2 games a year at most and that was the fullest I've seen it in a long time. Now there was a pretty massive exodus at the half, I'd guess you lost 3-5k of those fans but pretty impressive for a season opener vs Portland State. 2 Quote

I went to the bathroom and then navigated my way through the main exit, and they had just started to light them off. We're talking about 5-6 minutes after the game had concluded. It would have been nice if they waited about 10 minutes after the game had concluded instead. I think I also only heard them promoting the fireworks display during the pre-game, nothing was really mentioned during the game itself. One thing I think would be a great thing is to do something similar with the what the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks do on Fireworks night and that is do the post-game radio interview which takes about 5 minutes and then wait about 5 more minutes and then start the show. 1 2 Quote

Agree with everything you said. I experienced that last year - I left the building and there was fireworks already going off. I didnt know about them and they didnt musta started them the second the game got over. Which prepared me this year - left with 4 minutes left. Walked over to the BMX track and about two minutes later they went off. Quote

AND the amount of students (and some adults) leaving as i was walking in at 5:50 is startling... Would reduced concessions at least for the 4th quarter keep SOME people from leaving? dollar dogs....dollar pops...dollar popcorn? 1 Quote

It was a crappy opponent yesterday and those things will happen. Valpo should be similar to yesterday but Valley games should be competitive with most fans staying into the 4th quarter. Quote
