Bums me out. Lot of names that I think/want to be good. Deng, Fleming, Hoskins, Tai, Behymer. I suppose most of those are unknowns or have some many flashes but no consistency and that’s why I’m hopeful.

flashes or consistency?? we haven't even thrown a ball or two to any of those guys and if we did it was within 10 yds of the line of scrimmage or a bubble screen....

2025 und football=chuck the pigskin!

6-6 should be the base case.. 4 large underdog.. 4 reasonable favorites.. 4 tossups.  Lots of different combinations to get to 6-6.  I’m expecting the over.

offense will be better.. QB is +.. Oline/RB/TE should better as good or better with 2nd year in offense.. WR tough to replace one of the greats but im optimistic.  Wildcard will be turnovers

ST will be as good or better

D would be hard to be worse..

My biggest hope is team shows a very positive trend into the end of the year instead of the road woes and collapse of the previous regime.

I would like to see something similar to 2015 in the Bubba era. Team getting better as the year goes along.

That is the only year I can think of during Bubbas tenure where that was the case. Maybe 2014 as well.

I’m not a sky falling guy speak the truth. Over under 5.5 wins, I’d take under all day, and that is where you get all my predictions.  They will beat Portland state and Valpo, and hopefully win 3 more that is hopeful, and I hope I’m wrong but it is gonna be ugly in manhattan and Missoula.

but if Simon was starting we would win 7+ games

GFhockey didn't warn us that he had an angry oddly spiteful son.

why do you believe that? what's changed?

Schmidt was the special teams coordinator in the national championship not too long ago. Although he will be busy with the defense, he will be helpful with special teams with his background.

Special teams have been really good for quite a few years now. Just because you hate Kostich doesn't make this false.

At 6-6 we might as well have kept Bubba and I'm serious.  8-4 should be the minimum accepted.

All we ever hear on here is how bad our kickers suck. Isn’t that right @geaux_sioux ?

Try again, buddy.

Apples and oranges I think..  Year 1 versus long term expectations. I already said I’m expecting better than 6-6 year 1.  So min 7-5 and given bubbas trajectory last year 6-6 this year would have been a pipe dream.

Troll-hit wonder - you won't even be active on this site at the end of the season.

Special Teams overall has been a bright spot in the past 2 years overall due to long returns, TDs, blocked kicks etc, but kicking and punting specifically has been below average to embarrassing over the past 10 years or so. More often than not the average punt distance has been D3 level, kicking touch backs non existent, missed PATs far too common and FG confidence low. Both can be true at the same time.
