If chartering is a key factor why didn’t (assuming) your daughter go there.

Beyond what is best for our current team, it is easy to see what a recruiting advantage it is for teams like SDSU that have those resources.

I have seen many of our fb recruits state that the nutrition program we have for them was a difference maker in them committing to UND.  If that is a big deal, imagine what chartering and they way they are treated does for SDSU.   You can argue that it isn't something we should be doing but then don't be surprised when kids want to go other places.

shows what u know about our competition in the summit league, their entire roster verbally commits by the 8th or 9th grade, most of their commits play their entire vasity career verbally connitted they do almost zero recruiting

Again, then why didnt (assuming) your daughter go there.

I don't get the desire to attack this poster. Do they have a grudge because of a bad experience for either them or their daughter? Yeah, probably.

But, are they saying anything that we as fans don't want? UND should be having a coach that positively influences the players both on and off the court, UND should invest money in their top women's sport, UND should charter to away games that aren't reachable by bus in fewer than 5 hours. UND should have dedicated practice courts to allow players to improve individually. UND should be at least a .500 team against D1 opponents, but all of the above play into the reason they're not.

I agree with you. This person may be telling the truth. We shouldn't assume he's making stuff up. We all know what the first three letters of assume spell. :whistling:

Not sure what you are angling for here.  They have already stated that UND promised a number of things that didn't turn out to be true.

They also stated that SDSU has their kids locked up by 8th or 9th grade.  Guessing you want them to tell you their daughter didn't rise to that level.  Could that be considered a personal attack?  Maybe we should see what a moderator might think of that.  Oh, wait........

Also can’t assume they are telling the truth, likely the truth lies somewhere in between.

Did these kids get a good education?

that’s what it’s about

non of these kids will make it to the wnba and I don’t think those teams charter

I guess someone needs to send every summit school a questionnaire and see how many schools charter

I know hockey charters home, is there any reason on their way home if it works out scheduling wise that a hockey charter couldn’t stop in Denver on the way home from phoenix and pick up a basketball team that played in Denver  or Kansas City

what is the cost of a charter flight

If charters are a key criteria why accept less. That’s what I don’t understand.

Was opportunity available to them to play for a team that does charter?  I think you do understand the answer but want to make them say that.

You fixate on the charters but they stated they were lied to during recruiting on how the players would be treated.

"they tell you in a recruiting visit and when you ask about training table and catered once a day meals when the student athlete is in the building they say of course we do what all the other summit league schools do and then they take and show you the cafeteria in the mens hockey locker room and tell you that all comes from here"

I think where you’re going wrong is you are assuming that the poster isn’t fabricating anything they have said. Which I personally find very unlikely considering how worked up they seem to be at the current HC

Sather’s team did pretty well on the road in Summit play this year, with presumably the same travel arrangements as the women. I also don’t recall reading any posts complaining about the method of travel or food from men’s team parents, so maybe it’s not that big of a deal in the scheme of things?

So the current state of the program is not a problem as long as the kids get a good education?

Sorry, but this isn't high school athletics.

The current state of UND basketball (both teams) is simply unacceptable.

I see a huge gap between UND and the better teams in the conference.  We don't exactly tear it up in recruiting and even then a majority of our team left after last year.  I haven't dug too deep but other Summit teams get kids to commit earlier and get arguably more higher rated players.

I am for looking at everything that goes into that.  Coaches, facilities, travel, scholarships, NIL, etc.   The level of 'nothing to see here' just because it came from a couple of parents of current players is amazing to me.  They most certainly have some bias but are also closer to the program than probably 100% of the people on here.  If we were killing it on the court it would be easier to dismiss but we've been bad for a long time through 3 head coaches over 10-12 years.  The end of Brewster era, Bernhard, and now Hutter.

I personally think Hutter deserves another year or two unless Chaves and others determine it is really that bad.  I don't see things getting better anytime soon unless he can get some good portal players.  Based on the comments from the parents on here we might actually go the other way and see another big exedus of players and assistant coaches.

If they were lied to they should be at Chaves or Armacost. We are not able to discern fact nor provide remedy here. They are.

True.  Just said more went in to the parents comments besides charter flights.  That is getting all the focus on here but was only one of many things that were brought up.

There are legitimate concerns regarding both basketball programs at UND. That is one of the purposes of this discussion forum.
