nascar99 Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago This year feels more wide open for the tournament. Ivankovic out for Michigan, Michigan State still hasn't gotten over the hump & gone deep with Nightingale; Penn State, Denver, & Western Michigan up & down. Perfect year to make a run 2 Quote
atxsioux Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Michigan state is going to need alot more out of Nilson, Lindstrom, and Vansaghi in the 2nd half if they want to be a true contender. Their D-core doesn't really have a standout offensive guy that can stress you from the points so maybe that's made them a little easier to defend in the O-zone. 2 Quote

Goon Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I know you all love the xG’s. UND is ranked pretty high. Quote

Thus, if you shut them down or if they have a bad night, the team doesn’t stand much of a chance. There’s a possibility I could be wrong though. 1 Quote

They were talking about how that line isn’t going they lose every time during one of their broadcasts. Quote

In the past few years they haven't been very tough to play against (much different from their past NCAA teams). The Saturday game when we beat them 5-1 they looked similar to how they did the last few years. Maybe they can change that narrative we'll see. 1 Quote

stoneySIOUX Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago There are teams I'd prefer not to play (Michigan, Sconnie, UMD, Western, DU), but I've seen every top 10 team play this year and if UND is at their best game, they can absolutely beat any of them. Quote

I would find it hard to believe other teams can match UND's depth this year. Depth can carry you a long ways, but once you get to regional finals, FF, or championship game, you need a little luck, too. Seems like once you get to the final four teams of most any sports tournament, the winner is the one who has the most luck, because generally they're all skilled enough to win it. 4 1 Quote

Many around here would be very grumpy with this. I agree wholeheartedly. Quote

But while depth is great, sometimes individual performances can be a deciding factor, especially when sometimes 2 goals can win tournament games. I think we have guys that can elevate their games in the post season. 2 Quote

Teams have to have the ability to win 2-1 games, and often, the team with the hot goalie wins as shown by Matt Davis and Hampton Slukynsky. 1 Quote
