You are right, it shouldn’t be tolerable but most people that go to the games are there to socialize, same as those “destination” games. It’s the same reason fans go to Target field.

i don’t think any of us are dying for a national title every year but the expectation of being in the top 3 in our conference and doing good in the national tournament is something that should be the standard.

Well, Brad usually has the first thing covered (top 3 in conference) but he's a little light in the successful national tourney department.

The most frustrating part of the Berry regime can’t be understated:  1 NCAA tournament win in 7 seasons.  His hot seat would literally be on fire if that 2020 team had gone 0-1 in the dance.  On the flip side, if UND wins the 2020 national title, we’re not even having this conversation today.

In an unrelated story, my decision to drive to Cedar Rapids IA to see Loverboy and REO Speedwagon last week as opposed to Grand Forks to see a sweep at the hands of Denver turned out to be a pure genius move.

Yeah I’d love to see him start firing away more and even if he hits the goalie, let our boys around dig deep and clean up the rebounds. We played a lot of “one too many passes” last night when we had chances to shoot low at a pad and create some chaos.

Brad Berry won 2020.  I think he avoided a possible embarrassing defeat in the tournament. UND wasn't playing particularly great down the stretch in 2020 going 3-2-1 against WMU, St Cloud, and Omaha....Western being the only one of those three being above .500, but still only good enough to finish 4th in the NCHC.  I think the offense punched above their weight a lot of the year, and in the tournament when things get more physical and the ice seems to shrink a bit, I don't think there was a guarantee they'd have the horses to make a deep run.  Their defense was great and would have likely kept them in games, but I don't think there was a lot of guaranteed success ahead for UND.  

Remember, the following year being the #2 overall seed we only managed to beat AIC (Div II) before losing in the following round and also failing to make the Frozen Four.
