Again, bringing up Bubba. The question I have is once you have a large enough body of work, does your coaching tenure ultimately come down to one game? IF the Football team beat Illinois State & finished 6-6, would Bubba still be coaching? IMO, not getting home ice is a big deal. I’m a believer that it’ll come down to a game. If they don’t make it to St. Paul or if they do and lose the first night. Berry won’t be coaching at UND next year. If they make it to the Championship and lose, I think he’s back, no extension. If they make a run and make NCAAs, extension. 

 

FFS, they won a title 9 years ago and beat powerhouse AIC in the first round once, what further evidence do you need of Berry’s post-season ability?  Build the statue outside of REA already!

My post is what I think will happen, not what I want to happen. If I’m Chaves, I would clearly communicate now (before the end of the season) that the university will be going a new direction following next year, regardless of results, unless $ can be secured for a buyout.  Quietly fundraise. The two options are known by Berry.

Why is everyone so concerned about the buyout ? One phone call to mafia man and you would have all the money you need.  They don't call him mafia for nothing

Who do I get rebate from for my season tickets for this past year? Those are entertainment dollars that I certainly did not get the value of what they cost. I used to think that it was a bargain for the entertainment VALUE of the product that was put on the ice. Not so much anymore...

Very thought provoking, and complete opposite of what we see with UND’s sit back approach, especially when we have a lead.  He sounds like the type of coach that can get his players to fulfill his game plan, rather than one that has to continually rehash how his team needs to play hard from the opening faceoff and play a complete 60.  Very impressed, and wonder if Berry can explain his philosophy with as much detail.
