I love section 7 and 8!!!  The private schools kill me...like all the Edina kids on STA...Edina wasn't cake enough you had to attend private school even though you live in Edina???!

sure...but gotta think if you are his family, the hockey dev is going to be better with Cullen and that crew than at home. 1.5 hour drive is nothing...it would be standard across most of the AAA world around the country

I know when Red Wing and Warroad were fighting over the Class A title, the Twin Cities hockey snobs always pulled for Red Wing. Same when Benilde-St. Margaret battled EGF for the Class A title when Jim Scanlon was head coach.

Serious question to the Forks people......if you have a kids that's a upper tier player in the Forks why wouldn't you put your kid at EGFHS? Play in an empty Ralph or possibly be a part of what we've watch last couple days.

Take it a step further...what if your kid is a legitimate NHL prospect...top 10 player in birth year at 15..a chippah...where would you send them until they are ready for junior?  Keep them home?  The top guys in this tourney are not chippahs....they are good, but the highest ranked prospect is like a potential 4th rounder...

well, first of all, Red Wing isn't a suburb.  Then you throw in a Private school...I am with you...the snobbery knows no bounds.  Remember Edina's favorite cheer when they play Minnetonka?  "you've got the lake, but we've got the boats"...and it isn't like Tonka is low rent lol

I meant the snobs down there don't like the "Outstate Minnesota" schools to win. Red Wing is much closer to the Twin Cities than Warroad is. Same with EGF and Moorhead, they always get the backhanded compliments and snide comments. It does make their successes sweeter though.

From an out-of-state perspective, with my older boy who went the AAA route and my youngest who just finished Mites.  If I were to relocate to the Fargo or Grand Forks area my home and my kids would be on the east side of the river playing for the Spuds or the Green Wave, no question.  I could not pass up the Minnesota HS hockey experience and the resources that Minnesota Hockey provides.

My youngest is a pretty solid player too.  Might have a free agent on my hands.    I'll review offers...

A lot of people down here in TC are pretty ignorant about the rest of the state. I’ve heard people ask why MN lets ND schools in the tourney when EGF has gotten in.

before  she tumbled over the table and made out with another lady on the dance floor.... but then again the Grand Rapids Eagles has gotten the better of many a hockey parent over the years.
