Seems like the consensus that all of us think is that we will be playing UNO in the first round. Hopefully in GF and not Omaha. Either way I’m hoping Latkockzy doesn’t stonewall us too bad but whatever will be will be

Getting awful cocky in your old age.

Please no ???

Let my wishful thinking come to fruition. I’d rather not play a playoff juggernaut on the road in the first round. I’d rather get my hopes crushed one weekend later to prolong the misery.

I agree.   It matters where you get your azz kicked.

Best that UND can finish is 3rd.
Worst they can finish is 5th.

It's looking really likely that UND gets either UNO or DU for first round...outside chance of CC.
I'd much rather them face UNO, but we'll see what happens next weekend.  UND needs to make up 2pts to tie them, 3pts to pass them.

Anyone know who has the tiebreaker between us and UNO?

Here are the NCHC tiebreakers:

Quote

1.   If two or more teams are tied in the standings and all teams have played a balanced scheduled against one another (equal number of home and away games between all teams tied), the seeding for the NCHC Tournament shall be determined by the team with the best NCHC regular-season regulation winning percentage among the games played against the other teams tied in the standings. If any of the teams tied have played an unbalanced schedule against any other team tied this criterion will not be used and the following criteria will apply;

2.  If not determined by (1), the seeding for the NCHC Tournament shall be determined by the greater number of NCHC regulation wins;

3.   If not determined by (1) or (2), the seeding for the NCHC Tournament shall be the team with the best NCHC regular-season regulation winning percentage among the games played against the other teams tied in the standings, regardless of the schedule being balanced among the teams tied;

4.   If not determined by (1) or (2) or (3), the seeding for the NCHC Tournament shall be determined by comparison of total goals for and against each team in regulation in contests between (among) the other teams tied in the standings in NCHC regular-season play;

5.   If not determined by (1) or (2) or (3) or (4), the seeding for the NCHC Tournament shall be determined by comparison of the regulation winning percentages of the teams tied in the standings against the remaining highest ranked NCHC teams, successively, until the determination is accomplished or all NCHC regular-season contests have been considered;

6.   If not determined by (1) or (2) or (2) or (4) or (5), the seeding for the NCHC Tournament shall be determined by the flip of a coin.

If we tie with UNO, tiebreaker #1 would be out since we only play UNO for one series this year.
If that's the case, then UNO would hold the tiebreaker over us because we currently have 10 RW and they have 12 RW.
So we need to get 5+ points this weekend against UNO, or they will finish ahead of us.

This doesn't look good who UND would get in round 1 of the NCHC tournament: Omaha, CC, or Denver.

Well sh*t, we have to beat somebody.

If this team gave me confidence that Haks teams did I'd expect them to handle business. Well Berry's teams don't give me confidence unless they win the Penrose.

The fact that Omaha is over .500 five points is a tall task for UND.

Yeah, we tend to beat up on the weak teams and struggle with anyone with a winning record.

If missing over 100 games to injury is to be used as an excuse that really goes to show how little depth this team has and how far it has fallen.    There used to be a time when the kids UND had sitting in the stands could be first or second line players at a lot of universities and now we are facing the 5th tournament miss in 10 years.

Maybe our nickname should be Turtles,  or Mean Turtles....    bully the poorer teams, withdraw into a shell when the boss snapper shows up...

@Godsmack what are the odds CC can get a regulation win next weekend to help UND vault into the #3 seed if UND takes care of Omaha?

(My head says odds are still greater that UND winds up being the #5 vs #3 seed)

Im thinking CC takes the game at their home rink and loses at Magness, that rivalry seems to bring out the best in them even if it’s a down year.

Yah, I’m thinking DU take Friday’s game up at Magness and CC rebounds on Saturday down at Robson. As good as DU is, they’ve shown they are human and even a lesser talented, less deep team like CC can hang with them and win a game or two. Hopefully Laba will be back in the lineup, having the bye week should help buy the team some time to get him healthy. Laba is the lynchpin to CC’s offensive ability.

DU is a bit of a mystery in the same way BU is.  Big time talent prone to occasional puzzling letdown, especially on D.  Hockey purists here probably have a simple hockey explanation
