I suspect they won’t fill the last spot.  It’s pretty late to recruit a legitimate player and I can’t believe there are to many left still looking for a home.  I think they ride the season with 15 or 14 if Tyree isn’t eligible.

Probably right, unless they find someone like Elijah Brooks. He committed 6/13/22.

Maybe they can strike lightning in a bottle.

So If I had to guess starters and rotation (assume Ihenacho is a go here)

Starters:  King, Eaglestaff, Omot, Mayar, T

Bench: Ihenacho, Brooks, Brady, Amar, Mathews

That to me is a solid 10 man rotation.

Are grad transfers under different circumstances? Connor Vanover for example is transferring to a 4th school and I think it’s assumed he will be eligible next year but maybe he’s a grad transfer?

Last I heard, a few months ago, they were assuming he wouldn't be as a worst case scenario. But thing change, and as mentioned, the NCAA will continue to make decisions without anyone really knowing how things will go.

I don’t believe Brady will be a 30 minute per game guy this year. Maybe I’m wrong though.

The NCAA let a guy who played professional hockey in the KHL join Maine, so if they have an ounce of consistency and logic they'll let Tyree play. But this is the NCAA we're talking about.

If he shoots almost 36% from 3 and 48% from the field again this year then he probably will be a 20+ minute guy again.

I'm fully conviced that the NCAA has a secret plinko board and they write the athletes name on a plinko chip, drop it, and go with whatever slot in falls in.

Can't imagine what's taking them so long to decide.  After looking at the situation, I would think it would be a simple yes or no answer, and I can't imagine how the whole process would take more than a few days.

As you, I and others on the board have mentioned: While Omot has done well playing as an undersized 4, he would be far better suited in the 3 spot.  To me, it makes sense to transition Brady to a 20-25 minute role off of the bench and sell him on the idea of:  Go be an elite 6th man.  While he doesn't have the abrasive personality to fill this role, but filling that "pest" role off of the bench, where he hits corner 3s, take charges, hustles all the time.

Would agree with @SWSiouxMN that he would be great in a 6th man 20-25 minutes per game role.

So in looking at the landscape of the Summit right now (not the order I would pick it and won't put UND in here):

-SDSU:  Should be the favorite coming in, Mayo frontrunner for POY, a stud sophomore in Kyle III, Mohs and the Wyo transfer should give them an interesting frontcourt.

-NDSU:  Nelson loss is huge but will have an impressive backcourt coming back.  Big question will be the tandem of Morgan and Feddersen down low.   Should still be in the conversation for the top spot.

-UST: Losing Rohde hurts.  If they have kept him, we might be having a serious discussion about UST being a preseason favorite.  Bjerke should be a heavy favorite to win FPOY.  Blue will continue to grow as a guard and Lee still have great potential down low.  Tauer will coach this group to a finish probably higher than the expects predict. 

-ORU: Mills gone, Vanover gone, Abmas gone.  A lot of firepower gone from this squad.  Still have McBride and Thompson to make life difficult for teams.  Enough of a recent pedigree to think that they will still battle for a spot near the top next year. 

-Omaha:  This could be a sneaky good team next year.  Young team that took their lumps but have a lot of talented pieces.  Fidler is a stud, Glover has a ton of potential, Jungers can really stretch it out for them.  How far can they climb is the question.  Are they ready to take a jump or two next year? Or are they still a year away?

-USD: Decks have been cleared after a dissapointing first season under Peterson.  Team is defintely bigger. Will have the Bruns Bros to build off of. They are the biggest mystery in the conference right now.  They certainly can bounce back and get back in the thick of things.

-KC/DU:  They are both in the same boat, rebuilding projects. KC will still be a not fun team to play based on their style.  DU was wrecked by injuries, stupid life decisions, and transfers, so they will be starting from scratch yet again.

As I look, while there will be some tough teams, there isn't a world-beater out there this year in the Summit.  No one should be running the table this year.  It will make for an interesting conference season.

The bottom this year is going to be bad... especially if KC has the growing pains DU will go through.  If WIU was still in the league, it would be even worse.

You’re telling me it’s possible for KC and Denver to be worse this year? I still can’t believe how bad they were in the Betty last year. For a team that finished last in the conference, I was impressed with Omaha. They won a game in Sioux Falls and gave SDSU all they wanted in the Quarterfinals.
