sioux24/7 Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 So for those that have followed recruiting for UND in the last 10 years or so, which committements were you most excited about at the time they happened? For me it would be Trey Demler and Aeron Carr so not the greatest track record. Quote
bang Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 Aarin Smith, I think was the guys name. He was our first 3 star recruit and if I remember right he never qualified. Never played here anyway. I remember I really like Ratelle's highlights. Mollberg was a big one for me. I thought he was going to be a game changer for us. Braden Hanson was another one. Grady of course created alot of excitement, might have been the only recruit in the D-1 era that I thought could be playing in the NFL (Golladay developed after he got to campus). I knew the guy later in life and he's around my age but it was a pretty big deal when we got Travis O'Neel. I could probably go on and on, but in the last 20 years or better those guys stick out for me. Quote
Nodak78 Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 Kleinsasser for me. I remember when UND recruited him, other as well as myself thought what a MLB he would make. 2 Quote

Shawn-O Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 For me in the FCS era it was probably Joe Mollberg at the time. Quote
Hambone Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 Let's see - I'm going to start around 2011 using the Wiki listings as I don't think there was as much recruiting info prior to that and give about 4-5 per year that I remember really liking - a lot of these guys didn't pan out so I probably shouldn't note who I really like in this class so I don't jinx it: Javen Butler (only contributed on Special Teams) Aarin Smith (never made it) Joe Mollberg (okay career - ended with a thud) Mike Edwards (nice freshman season, transferred out) Jared Tuilagi (transferred to SUU) Aeron Carr (transferred) Dustin Adams (never played due to injury) AJ Stockwell Cam Kuksa (injured freshman year) Cole Reyes Keaton Studsrud Dev Ferguson (transferred) Brandon Walker (transferred) Demon Taylor (good start to career - kicked off team) Chris Carter (transferred) Brady Oliveira Elijah Grady (quit) Justice Merz (quit) Mason Bennett Alex Cloyd Bennett Helgren Dre Randolph (kicked off team) Evan Holm Mikey Griebel Zeke Ott Noah Larson Hayden Blubaugh Otis Weah Garrett Maag Rain Slater (didn't show up) Mike Bruner CJ Seigel Again, just my personal list of who I remember liking the most in each class. Kinda crazy when you think about what looks good on paper and who ends up standing out when it's all said and done. Quote
Siouxphan27 Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 All non-Canadian offensive linemen. 2 Quote

You really have an eye for football players. Quote

I personally feel UND should recruit heavily out of Canada for football. Few other schools are going to. Quote
shep Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Iwari Smith. Thought he flew past defenders. I don't think he's playing anywhere now. Was also giddy over Johannesson coming here. Quote
Hawkster Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 I always loved Kenny Golladay. Too bad we couldn't hold him. Quote
Sioux94 Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 A lot of people seemed to be excited when we got Cloyd. Maybe he'll have a breakout year under a new OC. Quote

Rain Slater last year. Quote
