On a nightly basis, yes.   The days of the 2 game total goal series are over.  Those used to be either really dull if a team won handily the first night, or very interesting if it was close the second.  Remember you could potentially be pulling your goalie late in the game when you were ahead in the game the second night.

Yah, I still have a vcr recording of a two game, total series between the Sioux and Gophers and it was a trip to see a team leading in the second game and still having to pull their goalie!

Or OT in a game that wasn't tied!

Same here. The Toby Kvalevog Charmin-soft goal to end the game on Friday night was especially painful. Of course, we both know what happened the following season! :)

Wasn't the Friday goal scored with like 1 second on the clock and the Saturday goal the same thing except in OT?

Remember those days, never did like the total goal from two game concept.

Yah, it seems rather gimmicky to me. I like the idea of a best of three series.

I went into the vast archives of UND Men's Hockey and found these stats:

1995-96 WCHA Playoffs First Round @ Old REA
Friday, March 1st, 1996: Wisconsin L 5-6 OT
Saturday, March 2nd, 1996: Wisconsin L 4-5 2OT

The Friday game was decided at the very end of overtime with Kvalevog letting in a dump-in from the blue line. Saturday's game went to double overtime. That was a painful end to the season.

I agree.   I'd like to see Alex chill just a little, but he's been good.  And Jake avoids the cliche' a lot better now.  Good team.

Does Sweeney still have a job in Nodak radio or TV somewhere?

We really need a sweep this weekend to bolster the team confidence and set them on the right track for the post season.  To do that, we absolutely need to avoid taking stupid penalties, especially those away from the puck.  And Cam needs to be on his game for the entire 60 each night (no "5 minute lapses).  I was encouraged by last week's performance, I haven't seen that sort of hustle out of the boys for a while.  We need that to continue from this point on.

Go Sioux!

Wouldn't hurt the fan confidence either! :D

Number of seats available on game day is astounding. Have never seen this many. Lower bowl will be full but the west side upper is near empty from one end to the other.

Don't forget that Spring Break is next week. A lot of students won't be here.

Yeah unfortunately that is the case.  At least The Ralph sells the package for only $45 and single game tickets can be had for $22. So you're paying between $15-22 per game. You can't beat those prices.

BTW I'm expecting every single person that complained about the $100 Sioux-Gopher game prices to attend these games as they are more important games and 1/5 of the price.

I haven't

Lower bowl student seats are gone,  only a few of the upper bowl students are sold,  along with the non student seats in the other west side sections.

Looks like lots of season ticket holder seats that didn't pay the extra $20 for the playoff game.
