Plante skated into Smith.  It looked like they were both looking towards the play, and Smith looked back just before the collision and dropped a shoulder into the oncoming Plante.  Plante then careened off Smith and into the boards.  It did not look like a hard hit on the boards at all.

 

That's the way I saw it.

Just a heads up I believe the game is on Dish as well. Everything I keep seeing online said only Direct-TV had it in the viewing area. But It is on Dish. 412 subchannel
