SiouxFan100 Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 With the lead I will take both teams winning tonight Quote
Wilbur Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 Sounds like Buxton won't be back at all, so its Cave from here on out. He has started to pick things up with the bat, but his defense is what it is at times. Graterol gave up a few runs last night, but that's a good thing. Young fireballers need reality checks from time to time. From what I've read he hung a breaking ball and gave up a three run dinger. Hildenberger with two scoreless innings. Rochester's season ends soon, maybe he does end up with the big club when all is said and done. Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 This is why I wanted them to roll the dice on bringing up Kirilloff. So do they tell Royce to pick up an outfielders glove in the offseason? Quote
Feff Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 Disappointing to hear about Buxton, he's just so amazing defensively but he brings this team something else on offense. His speed on base was something that's hard to replace. Cave struggled but he has been playing better as of late. He's made some pretty good defensive plays lately too. Quote
Shawn-O Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 http://www.startribune.com/twins-prefer-to-settle-in-and-stay-a-while-on-road-trips/558380572/ Great article here on Baldelli's approach around road trips. Might explain why they are significantly better on the road than at Target Field. Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Odo backs up solid starts from Perez and Pineda with one of his own. 1 Quote
Wilbur Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Whatever they did to Trevor May.......wow. Can locate his fastball, throws offspeed effectively......he is a different pitcher.. 1 Quote

All this team needs is five or six from their starters. And on nights like tonight where they blow it open a Stashak/Smeltzer/Thorpe can close it out setting them up perfectly for the next day. Now Berrios doesn't have to be a world beater tomorrow. Go out, get through 5 or 6, and ride the line to Rodgers while the offense does their thing. Or he could be the ace and throw CG, but not likely the way he's been going. Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 So the Twins are going to try and 2015 Royal this? 1 Quote

Wilbur Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Berrios with a quality start, but four wild pitches today. Sounds like he doesn't quite trust his stuff yet. Finish this one, and head to Detroit. Quote
jodcon Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Looks like the news on Buxton lit a fire under Caves ass, 2 in the cheap seats so far. Quote
UNDMOORHEAD Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Took care of business in Chicago now on to Detroit. Bullpen got an off day today with the exception of Dobnak. Polanco tried to make it interesting in the 9th with two errors. Quote

Wilbur Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Perfect opportunity now for the Twins to create some space in the division with Cleveland heading to Tampa and four in Detroit. Quote
Wilbur Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 For the love of God Gibby just get through 5.......just.....5.... Quote
Wilbur Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 Gibby throws Hicks exactly the same pitch twice in a row, three times in the at bat.....Hicks fouls it off twice, then the third time he hits it off the foul pole..... Fastball up and away.....three times....he didn't miss the first two, why not bury a breaking ball and change his eye level a bit??? Gibby..... Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 Where have you gone 2018 Kyle Gibson.... Rays up 4-0 now, so looking like it is going to be a 4.5 game lead 1 Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 Duffey and May 6 batters 6 strikeouts They are firing on all cylinders Quote
