Never ever claimed that Wyo would drop to FCS. They'll fight tooth and nail to stay FBS. What this writer did claim is that Idaho and Montana are similar to Wyoming's ability to field FBS teams. He had interesting quotes from Haslam and Spears. If Idaho can be FBS, UND is surely in the ballpark for FBS.
darell1976
Griz working on some projects before the 2017 season, much as I predicted if that is the Big Sky transiton to FBS season. http://m.billingsgaz...bile_touch=true EWU, UC Davis, Cal Poly and UND need to announce expanded stadiums. So by 2017 UND would either need to blow the roof off the Alerus and add another level or expand Memorial Stadium to reach 15,000. Sounds like a tall order in a short period of time. Unless a major football donor comes out and helps, it won't happen.

mg2009
Some speculation has centered around Big Sky football programs looking for a way into the FBS, but when asked what he’s heard on that front, Spear responded: “Nothing.” so can we end this inane little mental excursion yet or is this going to keep being the Happy-Time Imagination Land for the foreseeable future? You can quit coming to Siouxsports. As a bison fan, you have issues with everybody here. Spears knew nothing about Idaho's short stay in the Sun Belt. IT wasn't til the letter I released that he fessed up. He wasn't telling the truth before so you expect him to fess up now? The Big Sky released schedules after 2016 that don't have Idaho on them. But Idaho will part of Big Sky football by 2018 at the latest.

Sorry that my loyalty to my university is less than my loyalty to sense and reason. You have yet to provide any evidence and all the involved parties view this as absurd. Remember when you got laughed off the sunbelt board after you brought this little scheme to their attention? Your deranged ramblings are detrimental to the university, please have some self respect and stop this nonsense. Idaho may very well end up back in the big sky for football, but it won't be because of some crazy scheme to take UNC, NAU and Weber State to the highest level of football. In fact I don't think anyone would be surprised if they eventually were forced back down, even if it's fairly unlikely in the near term. Montana is in the middle of an existential crisis and you think they are imminently reclassifying. Ridiculous.

You'll never understand because you don't want to understand. Was in Richmond, Ky last week, which is the home of EKU. EKU is making noise about going FBS. EKU has 14,500 students on campus and has lesser athletics facilties than UND. You laugh at UND moving FBS, but a school like EKU can move to FBS without a peep from you. EKU has a stadium that seats less the 10K. It would have to duplicate the home side stands on the visitor side to make a 15k stadium. Yet the Sun Belt seriously is considering them if they expand their stadium. WKU did the same thing. Richmond is only about 20 miles from Lexington and UK. UK dominates the media there. EKU has to find their niche, wants to stay with the big boys, and wants the million dollar bonus the Sun Belt will give to all football teams from the college football playoffs. http://www.courier-j...TS12/312050091/ Even if EKU upgrades the stadium to two sides, UND will be much more impressive athletically and academically that EKU. Somehow UND isn't supposed to dream FBS but EKU is? So you are going on record that no Big Sky team will ever be FBS? That the Big Sky will not have eight FBS teams in the future?
