Redneksioux Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I was just repeating the word I had heard. We shall see how it goes. The Final Five took years for it to gain the steam that it had. In order for this tourney to be anywhere close to the attendance of the final 5 HAD, every school involved will need to send many many more fans than they ever sent to the final 5. Quote
MafiaMan Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Maybe Bidco meant to say only a couple thousand lower bowl tickets left. If these tickets are not part of the rodent season ticket package, which is easy to believe they are not, that means at best the rodents will sell maybe 5K. I think even the biggest Gopher-haters among us know that the X will have 10,000+ Minnesota fans in the rink on Friday night. Quote
smokey the cat Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I think even the biggest Gopher-haters among us know that the X will have 10,000+ Minnesota fans in the rink on Friday night. They can't even get 7K at a home game. Quote
smokey the cat Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 ? You think there will only be 5K Gopher fans? Better chance than being more. Why are there so many lower bowl tickets still for sale? Quote
Mariucci Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 They can't even get 7K at a home game. Ok now I have to ask. Are you on crack? Quote
Redneksioux Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Guys this conversation is starting to sound unhealthy. Please refrain from an unhealthy conversation for 4 or 5 years and the college hockey world will be a better place, mmkay? Quote
smokey the cat Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Ok now I have to ask. Are you on crack? I can see all the empty seats every game. Are you on crack that you miss them? You know the seats where the big piss yellow M is. The big piss yellow M that shows up so nice because all the seats are empty. Quote
tnt Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I do think Minnesota will support this tournament, especially in the new environment we are in. I think Minnesota fans miss playing old WCHA foes and still look forward to the traditional rivals, and in-state clashes, and probably will for quite some time until they develop some fierce conference rivals. Even then, the nostalgia could get enough fans to make the "X" tournament more than worthwhile. Quote

MafiaMan Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Very true.................Big 10 hockey just flat out sucks !!! I find myself rooting for Penn State in hockey. Hockey Valley...that's a pretty cool theme. Quote
Ice Arena Man Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Better chance than being more. Why are there so many lower bowl tickets still for sale? The reason there are probably more lower bowl tickets available is that the goofs probably have no beer being sold in the lower bowl just like the BIG 10 tourney at the X! Quote
Siouxman Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I think even the biggest Gopher-haters among us know that the X will have 10,000+ Minnesota fans in the rink on Friday night. At least until mid-way through the second period. Quote
cberkas Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Michigan State just about scored a goal 30 seconds into the game against Michigan. Quote
MafiaMan Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 At least until mid-way through the second period. Isn't that when they start arriving to the game? Quote
cberkas Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 You can say that the attendance will be better at both games at the North Star Cup, then the attendance at the Joe tonight between Michigan State and Michigan. Quote
smokey the cat Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 You can say that the attendance will be better at both games at the North Star Cup, then the attendance at the Joe tonight between Michigan State and Michigan. How bad is it? Quote
cberkas Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 How bad is it? Looks very light on the bench side. Quote
siouxfaninseattle Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Michigan State just about scored a goal 30 seconds into the game against Michigan. Huh? Quote
cberkas Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Huh? The puck was laying just outside the crease the ref blew the whistle just as the puck was shot in by a Michigan State player. Quote
siouxfaninseattle Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 The puck was laying just outside the crease the ref blew the whistle just as the puck was shot in by a Michigan State player. Got it. I just turned on the game and saw it was 1-0 Mich. State just scored to tie it. Quote
MafiaMan Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Thursday night regular season hockey...good call, Big 10. NOT. Quote
keikla Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Thursday night regular season hockey...good call, Big 10. NOT. It's not just them. Hockey East frequently has mid-week games. A friend of mine went to the Maine game on Tuesday of this week, though at least that was an exhibition game. BC and Merrimack also played Tuesday night. Quote
keikla Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 DU also has a club team? Weird. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/college-goalie-gives-200-foot-game-losing-goal-193538014--nhl.html Quote
