Wilbur Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Alright....0-3, lets look at the rest of the season. @Steelers.....Well London.....Loss Panthers.....Loss @ Giants......Loss Packers......Loss @ Cowboys.....Loss Redskins......MAYBE the first win of the season. @ Seahawks.....Loss @ Packers......Loss Bears.......Maybe win #2. @ Ravens.....Loss Philly.....Loss @ Bengals......Loss Lions.......Depends on Detroit's playoff status. The final record has the looks of 2-14......But that should get them the number one overall pick in the draft. Who do you go with? Quote

Granted the Packets have lost to 2 playoff teams but blowing 4th quarter leads in both doesn't set up for an automatic win @ Minny at the end of October...they could piss that one away like today. I would hope if they go 2-14 or worse the Ponder era would be over...so probably Bridgewater. But right now I would be surprised if they don't get more wins than Jacksonville, they are gawdawful. jodcon Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Would we want Manziel if he comes out ? After watching all the 3 yard passes with time running out today I would take Last Call Tommy if he wants to come back. Quote
Wilbur Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 I saw that Mariota from Oregon is draft eligible after this year. I would draft him in the top ten if other guys aren't around. Possible QB's.....Bridgewater, Mariota, UCLA guy, Manziel...... Has to be a QB. Has to be. Quote

Pretty poor decision making indeed, but the special teams coach should be fired over the fake field goal. Nobody lined up within 15 yards of that guy...wow. 1 Quote
jodcon Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Pretty poor decision making indeed, but the special teams coach should be fired over the fake field goal. Nobody lined up within 15 yards of that guy...wow. And that was after a fake punt too so they should have been extra aware of trick plays...pathetic. He didn't even have to slip past the outside rusher like most fake FG's work, he just hung by the sideline and waited...I don't remember ever seeing that before. This team is fundamentally awful, the play calling is predictable, the QB can't throw an accurate ball over 10 yards and makes bad decisions, and the secondary is probably the worst in the history of the Vikings. You play a bad team that has no running game and is forced to play their 3rd string QB and he throws for 320 yards and beats you? At home? Really? And Frazier stands there like a tree stump showing no emotion like he's thinking about where he's going to eat dinner tonight, just once I'd like to see him chew someones ass on the sidelines. At this point nothing is going to change unless the team continues to lose games, which looking at the schedule should happen. This is what the Vikings are when Peterson can't run for 150+ and they don't get a well-timed turnover...a bad team. Quote

Couldn't agree more...MSU ran a well-executed fake field goal attempt a couple of years ago to beat Notre Dame. Good execution is one thing...leaving a guy wide open 15 yards from the closest defender is just inexcusable. Quote

The vikes intercepted Hoyer 3 times and they got the muffed punt and they still lost...pathetic! You're right, they actually did force 4 turnovers which would usually translate to victory, but lo and behold 2 fumbles here...a pick there...a fake punt and a fake FG later...loss again. Just think if they wouldn't have had those 4 turnovers, probably would have been a blowout. Sad state of affairs right now. Quote
MafiaMan Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Sad state of affairs right now. Pittsburgh...Jaguars...Giants...Vikings...could the record of the 2008 Detroit Lions actually be in jeopardy this season? I personally like the Jaguars' chances! Quote
Wilbur Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Well, we'll lose Pittsburgh off that list this weekend. Have no fear though, the Vikings will win meaningless games at the end of the season that will drop their draft status by five or six picks and miss out on the top three or four difference makers. Skol Vikings. Quote
WYOBISONMAN Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Maybe we can refuse to let Ponder and Fraizer back into the USA. It surely wouldn't hurt......and would probably help. Quote

Quite the signature game we're treating the London faithful to...0-3 Pittsburgh vs. 0-3 Minnesota. That should solidify soccer as the national sport for another 10 years. 1 Quote

Wilbur Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Well whadya know, the Vikings can complete downfield passes and Peterson has some running room. Wonder why? Completely different offense with a half decent QB. If the Vikings don't blow this I await the "who starts after the bye" commentary. Quote
