gfhockey Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 So we have a topic about eating in GF what about drinking in GF since ND is #1 in bars per capita I miss Bronze Boot. Quote
darell1976 Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 My hangout was the rock ( El Roco). I haven't been there since 98. Quote
Goon Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Does anyone know anything about that new sports bar on Demers? Quote
Sioux_FF Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I've only been to Wild Bills once, they have some good daily specials. Had a Wed night Rib basket a couple weeks ago. Large portion and reasonable. Plus I was impressed with the service for a newer place. We go to the El Roco one or 2 Saturdays a month for the live trivia. Excellent bar food, specials and the best sweet potato fries I've ever had. Both places have a nice selection of my favorite item.....cold beer. Quote
gfhockey Posted July 2, 2013 Author Posted July 2, 2013 el rocco went a bit down hill from the good ole days before downtown but is still a pretty fun place to drink....and peggy still works there although she does get a bit grumpy when you don't tip her enough Quote
UNDColorado Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 I am a big fan of Joe Blacks. We had so much fun there back in the day. I end up meeting friends there every time I am back in GF. Good place to watch a game too. Quote
IrishSiouxFan Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 I like to sharpin' up over at Judy's before I go downtown. It's got a nice laid back atmosphere and the beer on tap is more than reasonably priced. 1 Quote

Did they switch the bar around in there, I was in there last summer and it seemed like it had changed? Quote
IrishSiouxFan Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Yeah, it's totally flipped around, I think the layout works better. Still a great place to drink a cheap beer and catch a game! I love how the booths have pics of all the patrons throughout the years, including many of the Fighting Sioux hockey team. Quote
geaux_sioux Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Speedway for shity beer night. 1$ cans of grain belt is awesome. Also nice small bar with great service and an awesome happy hour. The Loft is ok when it's packed but it's so big that if there aren't enough people it feels empty. Decent specials though. Quote
MattC Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Joe Blacks is my go to when I'm in town. Can't beat the $3 Absolutes and Crowns IMO. Quote
gfhockey Posted July 3, 2013 Author Posted July 3, 2013 I like dennys a lot too.... anyone been to the bun for one lately? Quote
Siouxperfan7 Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 If you are awesome and love great beers, JL Beers is your no brainier stop! And they have great burgers too. But their Beer selection is second to none. Quote
UNDBIZ Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Personal pizza and a pint of beer at Mikes Pizza for around $7 can't go wrong. Downtown I like the Loft now or the rooftop at Rhombus. I usually like to start at the Tavern at the Canad Inn because the pool tables are usually empty, unfortunately the service there is often horrible. 1 Quote
gfhockey Posted July 3, 2013 Author Posted July 3, 2013 rhombus is way overpriced but way too good canadinn servers look hot but usually only one working at a time Quote
Redneksioux Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 My favorite place to have a few beers is at the Ralph:) though I miss the 32 oz'rs! Quote
siouxjoy Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 If you are awesome and love great beers, I'm awesome, AND I love great beers! Sweet! Quote
charliepic Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 The Antique.... a long time ago. Bucks at the Spud. Quote
