NCAA admits they are corrupt

This thread says the NCAA admist they are corrupt, so this article isn't really about the NCAA literally admitting it, but based on this piece, aren't they essentially admitting it?

The NCAA’s initial findings mysteriously put the focus on women’s basketball rather than on men’s basketball and football.

This was the case even though an investigation commissioned by the university said North Carolina’s fraud was certain to have gone back as far as 1993, with these statistics:

Among athletes taking the paper classes that required no work, 51 percent were football players, 12 percent men’s basketball and 6 percent women’s basketball.

The original NCAA charges against North Carolina went back to 2002. The amended allegations changed the starting point to fall of 2005.

Now, there’s a coincidence, since North Carolina won the NCAA title in men’s basketball in the spring of 2005.

The NCAA has vacated several Final Four appearances, including the Gophers in 1997, but never a title.

Our old pal Rashad McCants, the No. 2 scorer on the 2005 title team, went public with this: He took paper classes, and coach Roy Williams was aware he was doing so. A McCants transcript backed up the first part of his claim. And yet the NCAA failed to include his accusation or transcript in its allegations.

All you need to know about the NCAA is that they won't play in a facility with this logo, but they'll play the 2017 Frozen Four in a facility with this logo splashed all over the place

Makes total sense ...

Say UND makes the Frozen Four, could they use the Blackhawk logo jerseys from the 1980's as throwbacks? Kinda how UND puts out old Sioux logos in the Dacotah Legacy Collection.

Yeah-right.

Trademark violation since UND doesn't own the rights to that logo. Plus NCAA policy of not allowing use of Native American imagery at their events. Those last 3 words are a major difference between your idea and the Dacotah Legacy Collection.

I love the idea of "their events" taking place in a building full of Blackhawk logos, tack on the chant of "Lets go Hawks" being heard in Chicago before, during, and after UND arrives should make for some interesting chatter.

SMH NCAA

Since the NCAA is so inept at doing anything, how about UND goes back to using Sioux. Native American team names is bad, but fake classes with fake grades for an entire basketball team is ok.

So can the Gophers put their Final 4 banners up again?  Free Clem

NCAA: "How can we get everyone to forget about the F.B.I. investigation?"

Mark Emmert: "Hold my beer."

The UNC case was a blatant situation where student athletes were allowed to compete because of UNC's academic fraud.  It's an outrage, but the NCAA doesn't have the guts to give UNC the death penalty or even a slap on the wrist - because they are too high profile a member.  UNC should have put itself on probation and taken scholarship cuts but didn't even have the moral courage to do that.

But the NCAA will now find some sham charge against Appachian St and East Carolina, as they  need to be cut down to size to protect the vaunted Tar Heel athletic program.  The NCAA limited probation against Penn St after their coach sodomized young boys with the full knowledge of the whole Penn St admin.  Goes to show the massive corruption of the NCAA admin's souls.

Heard a UNC lawyer was in a meeting with an NCAA compliance team, and that lawyer threw an NCAA manual down on the table and asked what bylaws UNC broke in that manual.  The NCAA could not come up with any broken rule because the NCAA doesn't cover academics per se.  UNC received probation from their accrediting organization, but that was just a slap on the wrist.

Didn’t the NCAA want to scale back their original punishment to Penn St because they thought it was too harsh. This from the organization that ruined SMU football for good with the death penalty.

If two schools were to ever be kicked out of the NCAA, Michigan State and Penn State are the two that should be.

The NCAA <surprise surprise> managed to botch the PSU situation.  They got sued and their emails told the story of their screwups. Heck, one of the people who was on the committee didn’t even read the report! That’s why they caved.

The NCAA Has botched Miami and  UNC....I fully expect to botch this one.
