forksandspoons Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 random, but at 2:47 look at the wideout on the bottom of the screen… it might be just a funny angle, but to me he looks way offsides lol Quote
UND-1 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted a while back geaux sioux Gotta say that Carter has been taught how to play DB quite well. Unbelievable fundamentals for a high school corner. Quote
NewUNDAlum Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 My thoughts on Carter: The good: -Solid fundamentals -Good athleticism -Willing to stick his nose in the run -Really good ball skills The question marks: -Needs to get a little faster -Doesn't have the greatest size; needs to get stronger -Good hips but hes a little late opening them to run with the receivers, that cushion will get eaten up quick but he'll get coached up on that I think hes got a chance to be a really good player for us if we get the commitment but like any freshman he has work to do. The Sicatoka Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 wonder if he has any trash talking abilities? That requirement was one mandated by the prior regime. I believe Bubba requires walking the walk before talking the talk. 1 Quote

kingranch Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 New Longhorns Coach Charlie Strongs Players Code Of Conduct. Strong and his coaches met with the team and outlined their expectations. He followed that with individual meetings with key players and 2014 seniors. The meeting was "very intense", but there was no yelling or drill sergeant act. No theater. Just a detailing of how things are going to be from now on. No one was thanked for being there. No one was patted on the back for being at Texas. Strongs expectations: Players will attend all of their classes and sit in the front two rows of all of their classes. GAs, academic folks, position coaches will be checking constantly now. No headphones in class. No texting in class. Sit up and take notes. If a player misses a class, he runs until it hurts. If he misses two classes, his entire position unit runs. If he misses three, the position coach runs. The position coaches don't want to run. No earrings in the football building. No drugs. No stealing. No guns. Treat women with respect. Players may not live off campus anymore, unless they're a senior who hits certain academic standards. The University will buy out the leases for every player currently living off campus and put them in the athletic dorm. The team will all live together, eat together, suffer together, and hang out together. They will become a true team and learn to impose accountability on each other. The cliques are over. There's no time for a rebuild. "I don't have time for that." The expectation is that Texas wins now. Players will learn that they would rather practice than milk a minor injury. The focus is on winning and graduating. Anything extraneous to that is a distraction and will be stamped out or removed. Strong met individually with seniors and key leaders and re-emphasized that the plan is to win now. They can lead the new culture or be run over by it. "I don't want to talk about things. I'd rather do things. We just talked. Now it's time to do." Quote
sioux24/7 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 With both Walker and Carter coming in this weekend I'm going to guess that Jevonte Alexander will also be visiting. Quote
gfhockey Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 that just takes college out of the college memorys I would find it hard for him to recruit for those rules. Quote

Hasn't UND always done class checks with repercussions on the person and the team? Some of those are just plain "no felonies or misdemeanors". Others are "do what your grandmother taught you". UND Hockey players live on-campus for at least one year still, don't they? And do they still eat at Squires? You used to see the whole team in there eating (back in the day). Quote
bincitysioux Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I believe he was recruited as a WR. You thinking of Deion Harris? That's right. I was confussed............. Quote
