GeauxSioux
Me either. I'm heading up to take in some basketball this weekend. Boosters Friday afternoon, ladies Friday night and the men on Saturday night. Nice weekend for some Sioux BB. Go SIoux!!

Teeder11
2011-12 GWC Preseason Men's Basketball Poll 1. Utah Valley (5) 34 2. North Dakota (1) 28 3. NJIT 27 4. Texas-Pan American 15 5. Chicago State 11 Houston Baptist 11 Utah Valley is becoming a short-term rival for us this year in a lot of sports.

Feff
Well the Waldorf game looked about as expected, UND looked pretty good against an overmatched team. Some great plays by Huff that were highlight reel material, and Anderson was, IMO, the best player on the court. Great vision, control of the offense, and knew when to take it himself. His defense was solid too. I was really impressed by his play today. The depth looked pretty good and I liked what I saw from the two freshmen and you could see them start to get more comfortable later in the game. fetch9
really surprised at the offensive rebounding numbers in the game given how poor they were at it last year (though it was more because they didn't try rather than a talent deficiency)
Feff
Well I think we'll see those offensive rebound numbers go down. We had a good size advantage on Waldorf. If they keep up that intensity against similarly sized opponents, they probably will increase offensive rebounding. From my perspective, offensive rebounding is a matter of mental disposition to getting nasty and doing what it takes to secure the ball. We were a very young team last year without that mentality, hopefully a year has helped them sharpen it.
fetch9
Well last year it was more of a they just wanted to get back on D vs. going after the offensive boards. I figured that wouldn't change this year but maybe since they had a size advantage they decided to crash the boards a bit more.
SiouxCrew11
After watching almost every game last year and the first two of this young season it is very clear that Aaron Anderson is our most improved player. He has looked great in the first two games (granted against inferior competition). However, regardless of the competition I can clearly see his game elevating and improving which is great to see. He seems to be reaping the benefits of offseason workouts, and perhaps bringing in a freshman PG is pushing him!
Teeder11
Holy cow! ISU Bengals have a center on their roster that's listed at 7 feet 4 inches. Wonder if he's athletic enough to play with that kind of height. Might have to show up at the Betty just to see that spectacle. http://www.isubengals.com/roster.aspx?path=mbball

GeauxSioux
Anderson looked great in the Waldorf game. He played a complete gamed. Huff is fun to watch. The acrobatic play he had in the first half was highlight reel stuff. The big guys did rebound well with their height advantage, but seemed to have a hard time getting the shots to fall in close. Should be a fun year for Sioux BB. Hopefully the attendance picks up as the year rolls on. I guess 1642 isn't bad for a Saturday afternoon. 108498
How good is ISU Have we played them since moving to D1? If so what was the score?
the green team
This is the first meeting between the 2 schools on the basketball court. We play them again out there later in the season. Idaho St. played Oklahoma tough on Friday night. They led by 10 at one point in the 1st half then lost by 4. This will be a big elevation in competition from Minot St. and Waldorf. I'm curious to see how it goes.

PhillySioux
Bradley game should be interesting. Bradley was picked last in the Missouri Valley Conference pre-season poll. One would hope this is a winnable road game.

GeauxSioux
Sioux lead 33-20 at the half over Jamestown. It hasn't been pretty. UND led just 23-20 after giving up two straight 3-pointers with about 2:30 left, then went on a 10 point tear. Hopefully they can keep that level of intensity through the second half.
