Ever wonder what big news at ND's agriculture college is? Well ... http://plainsdaily.com/story/10119

They're deeply worried about where they buried a cow roughly 80 years ago.

Better?

One of Isern's former students, Matthew Boe, researched the cow for his senior seminar in history. Boe, 25, who has since graduated and is helping on the family farm near Perth, N.D., said he could not draw any conclusions from the semester-long project.

At NDSU you can spend a semester researching a cow burial and count it toward graduation.

It's not smack, it's AP reported fact. And it just writes itself. :D

Hey, give them a break.

It is NDSU. "Moo U".

Maybe they are trying to find a "Sacred Cow"?

(Bad joke of the day!) :glare:

Was the Minard Hall collapse a calculated diversion to hide the truth or does it contain the holy grail of their beloved Moo? ;););)

The animal Mount Rushmore of NDSU: a cow (Marguerite), a horse's ass (Chapman), a donkey (Hager), and a kind of dog (Ruley), with sheep (fans) baa-ing in applause. ;)

It's nice to see UM Crookston succeeding over its peers ...

“We are looking to have a strong show and maintain the lead over the region as the race has tightened up between us (UM-C) and North Dakota State University."

Golden Eagle equestrian teams host final shows and regionals

Some big-time east coast newspaper recently did a story on college hockey arenas and their best attributes (mentioning the awesome smell of roasted Bavarian almonds at REA). I wonder if some big-time east coast newspaper will do a story on college equestrian arenas and their attributes? Will UM-C or NDSU win "most aromatic"?

I think 'su will lose out. Their "horses" tend to have only two legs. :glare::lol:

SCSU ends homcoming

From the School that brought you Protests against other schools now they turn on themselves.

For whatever reason, SCCC has never really struck me as a school that does a good job of maintaining ties to its alums. Killing off homecoming seems like a perfectly asinine approach, even if they can't draw as well as St. John's.

Some of the comments after the article are pretty funny though.

With this sort of rationale:

other competition for fans from things such as deer hunting season, Overland said
one would think Hobo Days at SDSU is in some serious danger of extinction.

Yeah, attendance will be down since all of the UND fans will be in St. Paul ;)

You don't plan fishing trip where there isn't any fish. You don't plan a ski trip where there isn't any snow. And you don't plan a gay prom where there isn't............well you get the idea. Thanks for stopping by.:lol:

OK, so the University of Southern California isn't really "regional" (unless you consider Oxford and India Institute of Technology "not regional"), but here's something that can happen at USC in March, but not at UND. Brrrrr .... cold.

Be careful! Link is probably PG-13.

Favorite quote from the article:

The Kappa Sigma fraternity house. The couple have not yet been publicly identified but the USC fraternity has admitted that the man in the photographs is a member

A member, ... indeed.

And that's the news from Southern Cal ... {insert "Trojans" joke here}

While this board was in mourning about the Sioux losing, another scandal has been brewing within NDSU football.

The previous story leads into this one, as the Chicago Tribune is announcing a new scandal from its rooftop.

Chicago Tribune: NDSU wide receiver suspended for solicitation of minor

In-forum: WR Howard suspended

North Dakota State wide receiver Justin Howard, who was suspended for an unspecified time period, was charged in Cass County District Court for solicitation of minors and disorderly conduct.

Court records show both offenses occurred on Nov. 28 – a day after NDSU defeated Robert Morris (Pa.) in the first round of the Division I Football Championship Subdivision playoffs at the Fargodome.

Apparently, there must have been some excessive partying after first home playoff win, in what, 20 years?

Probably a lot of partying on Bisonville now after the Sioux hockey loss, so Bisonville better be cautious.

I was going to post the story on this yesterday but I figured it would get locked down just like my thread about the Bison baseball player driving into a house. The mods here don't like the bad boy NDSU stories on this board.

People, it's just a kids book ...

http://www.morris.umn.edu/newsevents/view.php?itemID=11551

Teams vying for the Cup, besides Morris, include St. Olaf College and the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

Now maybe Minnesota - Twin Cities campus will have a sport that maybe they can dominate in. ;)

The St. Cloud team will be spectators this year ...

St. Cloud spectating from the start? The season must start with playoffs. ;):D
