GeauxSioux Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Grizz Fan posted this in yesterday's Live Chat.... Saw the next four years of Big Sky football schedule. Pretty sure UND gets home/home with Montana, Montana State and Northern Colorado. Sioux fans should get excited. If true, that would be great. If that doesn't increase the attendance, nothing will. Fighting Sioux athletics is looking better every day. Quote

Not sure if that means a couple hours or a couple days..... http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/bigskyconf Quote

Hambone Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 They just posted that they will be up within the hour! Just saw they got to my question - awesome! I can't wait to see what the conference schedule will look like! Hopefully some great home games! Quote
GeauxSioux Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 (edited) North Dakota's rivals will be Northern Colorado and Montana State. Big Sky Schedules PDF of Schedules 2012 @SAC CP @EWU NAU UM @MSU SUU @UNC. I love it. Edited April 28, 2011 by GeauxSioux Quote
Hambone Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 North Dakota's rivals will be Northern Colorado and Montana State. Big Sky Schedules UND gets Montana at home twice before going back to WaGriz! That's a pretty good first year schedule. Home with Montana, Cal Poly, Northern Arizona and SUU, and on the road with EWU, Montana St, UNC and Sac St. I'll take it! Quote
PhillySioux Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 MSU travels to Fargo and Grand Forks in 2013. Montana does the same in 2014. Quote
IrishSiouxFan Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Not that I'm complaining, but why isn't Montana listed as one of our rivals? Quote
Hambone Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Not that I'm complaining, but why isn't Montana listed as one of our rivals? Mainly because other than MSU, they are right next to EWU (distance wise) and have had a pretty healthy FB rivalry for some time. Quote
star2city Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Like this too: Although teams will play just eight conference games, Big Sky schools will also have the option to schedule league members in non-conference games. For example, Montana and North Dakota were already scheduled to play a non-conference game in 2013 in Grand Forks. That will remain a non-conference game. Quote
UND Fan Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 I think they have made an error on the 2013 schedule. If our game with Montana is to remain a non-conference game (I don't know why they would need to do that), then we should have eight other conference games on the schedule. Right? Quote
Hambone Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Like this too: So UND will be playing the Griz at home for three straight years? Two conference and one non-conference? Nice! Quote

If our game with Montana is to remain a non-conference game (I don't know why they would need to do that), then we should have eight other conference games on the schedule. Right? Montana is not on the conference schedule for 2013. Only for 2012, 2014 and 2015. Quote
PhillySioux Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 After seeing these schedules, we now have matching open dates with NDSU for the foreseeable future. Both programs need games, get the damn thing done already. Quote
UNDvince97-01 Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Wow, the schedules look incredible! GO GET YOUR SEASON TICKETS, FOLKS!!! Quote
PhillySioux Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Montana is not on the conference schedule for 2013. Only for 2012, 2014 and 2015. So they come to Alerus 3 times be before we go to Missoula. Quote
Hambone Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 So they come to Alerus 3 times be before we go to Missoula. That's how I'm reading it. Quote
UND Fan Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Montana is not on the conference schedule for 2013. Only for 2012, 2014 and 2015. You are correct - my error! Quote
MoSiouxFan Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Montana is not on the conference schedule for 2013. Only for 2012, 2014 and 2015. Fighting Sioux.com shows Montana @ UND on Sept. 14, 2013 (still NC, I assume). Quote
star2city Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Not that I'm complaining, but why isn't Montana listed as one of our rivals? Every school in the conference wanted Montana as a rival, as their fans pack stadiums. EWU basically gets its lone sellout when they play Montana, and EWU wasn't going to lose that game every other year. The schools that "suffer" the most are Weber St and Idaho State, as neither gets either Montana as a rival. Idaho State had to have been lobbying hard for Montana State, and instead gets Portland State. Quote
MoSiouxFan Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Here's how our 2013 home schedule looks already: Montana, Montana St., Eastern Washington, Sacramento State, and No. Colorado. Not bad, I'd say. Quote
Risky Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Let's just hope that our football fan base will hang in there for one more year. Be patient for one more year. The Blue Sky's are about to open. Or should I say the Big Sky's are about to open. It is really going to be exciting. Quote
