Boeser was always going to Wisconsin until they botched his recruitment/the relationship, so I think Minnesota didn't really work hard to recruit him until late, in which they botched it completely.

Fitzhenry is the biggest Twin Cities recruiting battle win since Parise IMHO

Whatever happened to that gopher hockey "insider" who predicted Boeser to MN as a done deal or whatever and then basically disappeared after it didn't come true?

So we lose seniors Menghini, Malinowski, and Magnussen, and most likely Reschny, and possibly one to the portal.  With the 3 you mentioned, that would leave us room for only the Ruck brothers.

Although its probably dependent on how this year goes, I'd guess Zellers is slightly more likely than not to leave before his junior season

Hoping since he was helping to recruit Fitzhenry he stays around to play with him.  We haven’t had much luck with #9’s sticking around lately though, so hopefully we’re due to have one stay 3 years. If he helps us get #9, I will give him my blessing to leave early though!

Agreed.  Massive get for the coaching staff.  UMN fans really wanted him.

For next year, I'm guessing Williams & Fitzhenry come in for sure.  Sanderson prob too due to his age.
McKamey...we'll see how this season goes for him.  If he takes off, I could see him coming in 27/28...if not, wouldn't be shocked to see him the following fall instead.

Plenty of room still for the Ruck's.  That'd be one hell of a forward recruiting class.  :)

I was wondering if Boeser would count, but it sounds like Minnesota absolutely botched his recruitment in every way imaginable. So I'm not sure it's even fair to include that one

I recall seeing something on a hockey podcast where he was pissed at Minnesota regarding their recruitment of Boeser, or lack thereof.

Don't quote me on this, but I seem to remember a story about how when he went on his visit there, Lucia made him wait in his car for some absurd amount of time. It was really bizarre

That was a funny story about how he went for a visit

Brad's article on Fitzhenry was updated with quotes from Nolan and his old Shattuck coach.

This sounds awesome too: One scout told the Herald he's a Zach Parise-style winger, who scores around the net and plays in all situations. Another said he has a release comparable to Brock Boeser or Will Zellers.

Quote

"I told the coaches my main priority would be the year with the NTDP," Fitzhenry said. "We took a little break from the process throughout the year. Once I got back home from the summer, I really started to think and started to make my decision. It wasn't until pretty recently that I decided NoDak is the spot. I have no doubt in my mind it's going to be a perfect fit for me."

Fitzhenry visited UND last August.

"I loved it," he said. "It's a super cool facility. Everything is top-notch. You get so many resources given to you. And the campus was great, too."

Quote

"I've been texting with those guys a lot since I made my decision," Fitzhenry said of Thoreson and Scott. "We're all super excited. It's honestly the perfect spot for all of us. We're going to be playing with each other quite a bit. We've talked about possibly being roommates. It will be fun to figure out together."

Fitzhenry, Williams, and Klimpke almost certainly will be coming in next year. It certainly looks like there is a lot of flexibility to add and for current commits to play their way onto the team next year.

Yes! That’s the story I heard as well! I think Brock and his family were rather insulted by the slight. Don’t blame them either.
