  1. They Betty has potential. Double the size of the end bleachers and seating will grow by 500 to 3,800. UND should be playing their games at they Betty. If they played only one or two games at the Ralph, those would be the only games casual fans would ever go to, and I think it could actually hurt Betty attendance.
  2. ...and I jynxed them. Wichita scores five within like ten seconds of me flipping the game on. Were up 8, now 2.
  3. Wow upset alert. Sdsu up on #6 wichita with 8:00 to go on espn3.
  4. Avants is an absolute stud. Wish we had another big(ish) like him.
  5. Yes. Might find a decent stream here - also might get a virus.
  6. Funny how you say that, but ... "The academic success of NCAA Division I men’s hockey players continues to set the standard across college sports, with hockey leading all men’s sports with at least 50 teams in the NCAA’s Academic Progress Rate (APR) for the fourth straight year. Men’s hockey’s four-year average APR score of 986 from 2012-16 is five points above the NCAA average and edged golf (984) and tennis (981) among Division I sports with at least 50 teams nationwide. Men’s hockey’s single-year APR score for 2015-16 of 984 also led all men’s sports with 50 or more programs." http://collegehockeyinc.com/articles/2017/05/mens-hockey-leads-ncaas-apr-again.php
  7. Wasn't there a bison fan on siouxsports recently that was saying UND did this to his friend? How ironic.
  8. I disagree - the exposure of playing MN in Minneapolis during the NCAA tourney is huge for recruiting. Tons of talent coming out of the Twin Cities.
  9. I think und was just worn out down the last stretch of the season. Did we play more games than anyone in the country? After a full week (or two?) of rest, the girls will look good and play with energy tonight! I hope.
  10. Basically I think it would be helpful if UND Academics and UND Athletics (overall AD issues) were somehow included in the titles of "Community" and "NCAA News", or if they had a dedicated topic. Edit: General AD issues are also discussed in "other sports", but logically, other sports means sports that don't have dedicated topics, such as track and field and softball. Maybe it could be "Other Sports and Athletic Department" or something. There isn't a logical place to put this stuff right now.
  11. A few years ago I posted here asking for a dedicated volleyball thread. I appreciate your guys effort in making that happen, and I think you making this happen has been very successful and good for the program. Today I have a new suggestion, as I think there can be some confusion and lack of awareness of topics posted that pertain to the general happenings of UND in academics and athletics. UND academic topics are currently posted in "Community". I think renaming the topic by adding something pertaining to UND Academics or creating a new topic that separates discussion of general happenings at UND from topics relating to Grand Forks and the State of North Dakota would be beneficial. I don't have any evidence to back this up, but I believe having a separate topic for UND academics, faculty, and facilities would increase participation and awareness in these areas. There are many UND news articles that are published in the Herald and never discussed on this website. SiouxSports is also lacking a logical place to post general Athletic Department happenings, such as department-wide apperal deals, media deals, conference affiliation matters, and general AD staffing topics. These topics are typically discussed in topics related to specific sports, when they are often relevant to all sports at UND. IMO, I think that this causes the threads posted about some of the issues in these categories to be missed or under-discussed by users who do not venture into non hockey or football or basketball threads, even though some of the issues posted under these topics are relevant to the sports that they care about. Perhaps there is a better way to categorize department-wide athletics topics? Maybe it would be lumped in with with General UND Discussion for academics/athletics, and there could be a separate topic for Grand Forks/State of North Dakota issues. General UND AD issues could potentially be included with "NCAA News", too. Also, I think this is the best run college athletics message board, and appreciate those who moderate and manage/own siouxsports.com. I am just wondering if you guys think that there is room for improvement. I know that too many topics can also be a bad thing if they aren't used enough. What do you think guys think?
  12. Which is kinda bs considering Cal Poly and UC Davis. Would be nice to be affiliates for two years. The big sky should really force Cal Poly and UC Davis to decide whether or not they want to join as full members or fend for themselves with football.
  13. UMKC. Less than a three hour drive from them and Omaha, and they don't sponsor football.
  14. It wouldn't actually be that bad, though. When they travel to the dakotas, UND/NDSU, and USD/SDSU are very short and easy drives between games. Omaha/Denver wouldn't be so bad either, with cheap flights into and out of Denver. Frontier currently has flights to Omaha for 68 dollars. If Northern Colorado and UMKC were added, NoCol to Denver and UMKC to Omaha are also easy drives. These aren't really any more difficult than SUU and NAU road trips for the Montana Schools. Baseketball would be Very competitive in a merged league, especially if Weber comes along. This league would compete with the new MVC, imo. Take football from the MVFC and force UNI to make a big decision.
  15. Herald is garbage for any sport that isn't hockey.
  16. yeah... didn't it pretty much end Mollberg's career? I think his dad said that it had something to do with the position change when he posted on here a while ago. Anyways, as far as next year, I think we will be better simply because we will have a better QB. Keaton is a below average quarterback when he is not running the ball, which he didn't this year. He averaged 21.7 rushing yards per game this year. He was in the bottom half of the league in QB efficiency. The coaches might throw the ball around a little bit more with a better quarterback next year. We have talked a lot this year about coaches utilizing the players that they have, and they did not have a good quarterback, so they ran the ball more than most here would have liked. With a better qb, even with the same amount of attempts, we will see a more balanced offense next season. I like Keaton, but even Zimmerman already looked better than him this year. As much as I like the guy, Keaton had a terrible deep ball. That said, I am still in the fire Rudolph camp, but I don't see that happening.
  17. If anything, hopefully that big recruit that we grabbed provides reason for him to think next year can be really special here.
  18. Right now I wish grand forks had a guy like Dan Cole to put a negative spin on everything. I'll be optimistic after the playoffs end.
  19. Hmmm. Maybe if the receivers can't catch the ball, the OC should throw it to his all american running back more often.
  20. Players can only make plays if they are on the field. The problem that we have is Rudolph underutilized the the weapons that he had to work with. Wouldn't you like to have seen Santiago used more in the passing game? Have him spread out wide while Brady is lined up behind the QB? By the way, people were complaining about Rudolph all last season.
  21. Good game. Happy to see them fight back like that. That second announcer was terrible. He also called us North Carolina haha. Surprised how well this team is playing. I think ralston just said Avants lost a tooth.
