  1. Not sure, but found this while looking. LOL
  2. Football and basketball salaries are still embarrassing for both. We have lost assistants in both sports to FCS level schools. UND logo still missing from 50 yard line after new turf was installed. Giving Alerus upgrade credit to Bubba and Kennedy. Video boards at the Betty are nice, but that place has needed taller risers ever since it was built. Any somewhat competent AD could have gotten us into the Big Sky, except Faison was unaware that USD was going to bail and join the Summit/MVFC, which we are finally joining. I give him major props for Volleyball and NCHC, but almost everything else he did was !@#$. The NCHC move took guts, though, and most AD's would not have taken the chance to create a new conference, imo. Huge props for that.
  3. Faison... in the latest sit down and cheer podcast, he stated that he prided himself on not dropping any sports, but had no choice with the budget cuts. Later in the podcast he says that UND probably should have cut sports at the beginning of the transition. wtf faison.
  4. http://www.allstarleaderpodcast.com/episode033/ Was searching for a podcast where I could hear Bill Chaves speak and i found this gem. Its basicly a guy asking Bill a bunch of leadership/job interview-like questions. Im about a third of the way through and so far Bill has talked about what he looks for when he hires people and what his biggest challenge is at ewu. Basically said that their pres focuses on academics and limits athletics recourses... talks about their relationship a tiny bit (if you can read between the lines, so to speak) A topical listen if you have time.
  5. This. It would be like Bubba not even thinking about moving on from Rudlph.
  6. I'd take the ewu guy. Fyi he was sid at quinniapac for 6 years. Not sure if he was around the hockey team or not. His Twitter has some pictures of him at Spokane Chiefs games and I think I rememb him tweeting about und in the frozen four a few times. Point is he has at least been around the game and likes it. Has done great at ewu with limited resources in football and basketball. Fundraising wise, he has shown vision but didn't seem to have institutional support. Not sure about him on that front as the gateway project never really got moving. Their fans seem to like him but hate the president. She seems to be the sjw type who doesn't like sports.
  7. Drick is a huge loss and his rebounding is huge. He's playing 25 minutes a game for Washington State. https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/drick-bernstine-1.html I'd rather have Drick than Shanks. Shanks is tall, but he was very uncoordinated and skinny. Guy couldn't catch a pass, rebound, or shoot. He was terrible at the line too. Oh, and he would foul out in like 15 - 20 minutes!
  8. Tyreke picked up another offer, from Drake. According to the Desmoines Register (link), he played with our big get Jal Bijiek, and is now getting interest from big name schools. "That future could be very bright for the Polar Bears floor general. Locure — who sports a 3.2 grade-point average — already has a North Dakota offer, that’s where his former Polar Bears teammate Jal Bijiek will be headed next season. Shortly after Niko Medved and his staff took the reins, Drake became the second school to offer. Iowa State, Iowa, Creighton, Wisconsin, Milwaukee-Wisconsin, Minnesota, Morehead State, and most recently, Nebraska-Omaha have all expressed interest." "Despite that drop in recruitment activity during the winter, there will be collegiate personnel at North games this season. North Dakota coaches were in to watch him against Ankeny Centennial amd Nebraska-Omaha was in the gym Friday night when Locure poured in 35 against Hoover." At only 5'10", maybe bigger schools will be hesitant to offer and we could get another steal.
  9. Also, there is an argument to be made that the (hypothetical) buyout money would be better spent on bringing d1 teams in for home games, summer scholarships, increased salary pool for assistants, flights instead of busses, etc.. If I was the new AD, I would wait until there is a year left in Jones contract to buy him out, despite how much I think his contract shouldn't have been extended in the first place. This program needs a higher budget more than a new coach, despite how badly it needs a new coach.
  10. They better. Otherwise its a waste of scholarships that could be used for a QB.
  11. Is anyone for the NCHC tourney being in the twin cities every year but against the basketball tourney in Sioux Falls?
  12. The simple answer is we are not at the level that we need to be, recruiting wise. We need phase 2 in order to be competitive with the top of fcs recruiting.
  13. If thats the case, how could you explain ndsu recruits getting on average, way more offers?
  14. 6' 3" 247 lb inside linebacker... could have used him this year! http://www.gophersports.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/jaylen_waters_950241.html
  15. Sure. Lets use your own rules. Sioux Falls is the biggest city that has a quality arena near the geographic center of the conference. Sioux Falls also isn't host to any campus of any of the colleges in the conference. Seems like a logical location to me if you don't think a fanbase/program "should in no way have have any sort of factor in determining a conference tournament location."
  16. Best place for football is next to the practice facility. Let them practice and play games out of the same locker room for home games. Closer to the frats and campus.
  17. Yeah, I like the idea of Sioux Falls as well. UND fans can't really complain too much because the same arena is already half sold out (by UND fans) for the hockey regional that will be played there, so we already know that UND fans can get there if they have the desire. I'm happy that there will actually be people there. Coming from the big sky, the bar is pretty low as far as conference tournaments are concerned.
  18. They broke ground on this last month, so it is officially being built. Expected to be completed in only 8 months. New article -> https://www.bizjournals.com/washington/news/2017/10/24/lace-up-leesburg-heres-when-the-regions-largest.html
  19. Looks like they actually have a pretty nice set up there. They are averaging about 5,000 a game.
  20. This. Not to mention the difference in noise and intensity. A sold out betty is electric.
  21. It would be really easy to add a basic practice court or two north of the Betty, in the parking lot.
