Mankato scares me. I think if Mankato left the wcha, it would really hurt bemidji and the stability of that league, which would be bad for college hockey. They did a good job on the locker room - If the football locker rooms are anywhere near that quality, I would be very happy. I think JLG get's credit for doing the actual arena, though. Icon did the Betty - no concourse. Current practice facility - underwhelming for 20 million. It's a 20 million dollar building with 4 windows and zero creativity.

This is the answer needed to grow enrollment at UND! As much as I loved gamble, a new building is badly needed. Dumping money into that place is a waste. Not enough meeting areas or study space. Thank god for the SMIF room or I never would have studied on campus. That said, isn't the current plan to renovate gamble, rather than build a new school? I Know a new building was being floated while I was there about 5 years ago, but I kind of feel like that ship has sailed?

With all the talk of ND girls not having an opportunity to play women's hockey, I think some blame should be had on NDSU. They chose to use the 3rd prong of title 9. Based on the newspaper articles that we have all read, there is clearly demand for womens ncaa ice hockey in ND, right? As stated in the 1996 Clarification and as discussed in the Dear Colleague letter, OCR considers a multitude of indicators in the context of evaluating the following three questions to determine whether an institution is in compliance with Part Three. (1) Is there unmet interest in a particular sport? (2) Is there sufficient ability to sustain a team in the sport? (3) Is there a reasonable expectation of competition for the team? If the answer to all three questions is “Yes,” OCR will find that an institution is not fully and effectively accommodating the interests and abilities of the underrepresented sex and therefore is not in compliance with Part Three.
