Can we all just agree that both schools did what they thought was best for their football program at the time. Whether it was right or wrong, that's up for debate. Can we move on from all that crap and focus on the fact that starting next year, we will be playing each other every year.

They could, but it really doesn't look good since the N and the D are backwards.

NDSU has had arguably the best stretch of success in a 7 year span at any level. Yes they have had great defenses. But, it is amazing the talent they have had a QB during that stretch. After this season, NDSU will have the number 1 and number 2 all time winning QB's in FCS history in Stick and Jensen. Throw a guy that was drafted #2 overall ion Wentz in the mix and that is a pretty impressive stretch at the QB position. Biggest question will be can the next guy continue that success next year. Big shoes to fil. Only discouraging part for other fanbases is those shoes continue to be filled.

Imagine if our 100+ million dollar facility embraced the Fighting Hawks logo!

In typical Mauer fashion, he is low key about the whole situation and doesn't want to draw attention to himself. I never liked when players (Jeter, Rivera, Bi Papi, etc) that go on a year long "retirement tour" and opposing teams make a big spectacle about it and have pregame ceremonies to give gifts. That's jut not Joe's style. He could have at the very least announce on Saturday night that Sunday was going to be his last game. But Joe wanted the whole experience of his last game to be as normal as possible. I am not a Twins fan, but I have a lot of respect for Mauer in the way he played the game. The class he has was evident through his entire career and was on display yesterday right up to that last pitch he took behind the plate.

I apologize for digging up an old topic. Was just annoyed again watching the NCHC media day and seeing Berry wearing yet another "North Dakota Hockey" shirt. I realize that it shouldn't bother me, and others, so much. But it does. In a time where UND is spending thousands of dollars on marketing the new logo and brand, you have the coach of the most prominent program at UND and in the college hockey world not on board with the change. And maybe it's not even his decision. who knows. Maybe its the decision of the Athletic Department or the President to not have the Fighting Hawks logo as prominent with the hockey program because the hockey fanbase isn't as receptive to the name and logo as others. either way, it's unfortunate.

What coach and program has chosen to divide itself from the other athletic programs at UND? You tell me!! One of these things is not like the other....

Maybe the Engelstad Foundation will donate the remainder of what is needed for Phase 2 and then all will be happy!!

Doesn't this prove the point that the hockey team benefits the most from the Engelstad donations? You don't see a "Let's help Berry" thread on here do you?

I think both can be used effectively together. I think the band should be used most of the time. The band is one thing that makes college football great. Hearing the band play after we score or even just briefly after a first down or a big blay is great. Use the music for the intro, on 3rd downs to get the crowd motivated, and between stoppages in play (timeouts/quarter breaks/etc).

NDSU has had "Yell leaders" for years. Something UND needs to have to help organize the students cheering during the game.

Amazing how fast things can change for a team in a season. Last week we were 2-1 coming off a huge upset win of a top 5 team on the road. This week, UND is currently 3 point dogs to 0-4 Northern Colorado.

Look at the other mascots in the sporting world, especially college mascots. They are mostly goofy looking people or animals. And that's the point.
