In regards to NDSU joining the Big Sky: The Big Sky Conference to NDSU is like the girl you first fell in love with in high school. Really attractive right away, couldn't stop talking about her. For a long time you talked about how great she was and how you wanted to be with her. You asker her out a few times but she consistently rejected you. When the girl told you she didn't like you, you went on to a different girl (Summit). You have been with the new girl for a few years and you are fully commited to her. But then you see your classmate (UND), you you can't stand, start dating your initial cursh (Big Sky). You really don't think anything of it because you are with your new girl who likes you and accepts you. But then your new girl starts to put on some weight (USD, Neb-Omaha) and doesn't look that attractive than they used too. But you don't do anything becasue you have conviced yourself you are happy. Then a couple years later after you have settled down with your (Summit) girl, you see your buddy with the (Big Sky) girl that you initially wanted and she is looking really good. In a way your are a little jealous. You see your buddy going on all sorts of great dates (Sacramento, Missoula, Boseman) and you are stuck going to dive restaurants for dates (Brookings, Vermillion). Buy somehow you convince yourself that you never really wanted that girl and you are happy with yours. So for the rest of your life you (NDSU) will tell everyone that you see that your overweight, missing teeth, poorly aged love of your life is the one you want to be with instead of your buddy's (UND) supermodel wife that you initially wanted so bad. And a side note, your buddy has a great looking child (Hockey) that excells in everything he does, makes the honor roll, and is consistently doing great things year in and year out. Your buddy is very proud of his kid. But instead of respecting that, you decide yo rip on the kid at ever chance you get, telling him he is underachieving all the time, even though you don't even have a kid (Hockey).

I kinda like what you got here. Only thing that I would change would be having the "Great 8" tournament the weekend directly after the first round games. Also, putting a day off from the semifinals to the Finals. So if it were this year, you would have the first round games this last weekend, then you would have the quarterfinals this Thursday, Semifinals Friday, and then take Saturday off and have the Championship on Sunday. This way you can avoid the week layoff and the loss of excitement without having to compete with the Basketball Final 4. Just piggy backing off ksixpack's idea...just a thought.

The gophers were definitely a better team tonight. They deserve to be in Tampa. Great season for our boys. With the amount of injuries we indured this year, and the way we started the season, they should be proud of the season they had. We have great things to look forward to next season. Dell will be in net, top line coming back, and Grimaldi and hopefully St. Claire will be returning. Tough loss today, but this team has nothing to be hanging their heads about. Made a great second half run. And hey, we took home a little hardware this season. Great season boys. Looking forward to next year for another great season.

No kidding. And the fact is they had their green road jerseys that just say "North Dakota" since the beginning of the season!! Not sure why they couldn't take a picture before practice one day to get that in the program. First NCAA playoff game for our womens team and they were not even in the program. Unfortunate to say the least.

Why is it that about 5 minutes after they announced the Fargodome was getting new turf, there was a press conference with a picture showing what it would look like. Its been months since they announced the Alerus was getting new turf and we haven't seen any pictures. What gives? Must be locked up in the same safe that the playoff hockey jerseys are in!!

The NCAA said Florida State had to get the Seminole tribe in Florida to approve the name. They did. So the NCAA approves it. The NCAA said that UND had to get both Sioux tribes in North Dakota to approve the name. They both did not. So the NCAA doesn't approve. What ;s not to get? I am ot trying to defend the NCAA on this, but the facts are the facts. Had we gotten approval from both tribes, the team would be wearing their Sioux jerseys this weekend with the name and logo on it. If anyone brings that sign, they will look pretty dumb, in my opinion. UND had their window of opportunity, but they didn't succeed. I get it. Most other logical people do to.

You listed 4 chain restaurants as better buyers than JL Beers!! That's just crazy! JL wipes the floor with any of those places any day!!

Did they get a new banner for "NCAA tournament wins" this year to tour last years accomplishment to go next to their "Tournament appearences banner?!!

Bow up a picture of google maps giving directions from Mariucci to the Xcel. and have something like "Directtions" or "in case you forgot the way" on it!

Typically the only mid major schools that get invited to the NIT are those that done their conference regular season championship, but did not win their conference tournament championship. (Oral Roberts for example).

What about the green ones? Still want to see those at home and have the black be alternate. Maybe use them for big games like game a ginast Montana and (we can all hope) NDSU!

If Montana wins tonight, we will have beaten 2 NCAA Tournament teams this year. Pretty sure that has never happened!! Not a bad feather to add to our cap for this season!!

Its all about the Benjamins at the Final 5. that is why there is the "Minnesota rule" They get the night games because they want miximum attendance. I think that there is an unoffical "North Dakota rule" where the WCHA would want to maximize attendance an viwership for UND since they have the second biggest following at the Final 5 behind Minnesota (when they are there). So I guess I would assume that they would move the UND game to the night game, but who knows.

These Democratic leaders visiting the Alerus are jinxing our team!! They are bad luck!! The 4 years prior to Obama and Hillary visiting the Alerus, our football team was 42-10. Since they were there, our football team is 23-20. This is no coincidence. Who knows what kind of damage having Slick Willy in the Alerus will do to our team!!

Nothing else is necessary, but the NCAA requires that we have a new nickname. I am sure the NCAA feels that if we do not select a new nickname, than we will still be unofficially the "Fighting Sioux" and they don't want that. A new name will come eventually. Hopefully we can select an appropriate one.

I like!! I agree with your statment about the helmets. Needs to match the jerseys. Going with black helmets with a jersy that looks similar to what you have come up with would be sharp. New conference, new field, new beginnings for UND football. Starting off with a new look would add to the buzz that is already happening for next season!!

Agreed. We have used black in our jerseys for years. It is one of our colors. Other teams have used black as the primary color for their 3rd jersey for years. Time for the football team to try it out. The idea of a black out is a great idea!!!

Potential Regional Championship game in St Paul with Duluth playing Minnesota. That could be a good one!!!
