Brad did mention during the sports chat that the Kings risk losing him if he stays in school another year. At this point I would be very surprised to see Forbs back next year. Schmaltz along with Simpson will have to log lots of ice time next year.

The last Shore brother, Baker Shore, is only 13 and Gwoz himself said he might be the best player of the 4 boys. Maybe Gwoz getting pushed out of Denver would open him up to other schools. I am sure he would look good in green.

I know there is a "Minnesota" rule, but this year it will not effect any on the games with the Goofs being the #1 seed. If the Thursday game are flexible wouldn't they have moved the UMD vs. BSU game last year to the later game? i cant imagine CC vs. UAA had nearly as many fans in seats or viewers on TV.

I was wondering about the scheduling at Final 5 on Thursday? Some think that the higher TV draw gets the later game and other think it is pre-scheduled. Anyone have any info? Based on last years schedule I don't think it is a TV draw. Last year UMD vs BSU was early and CC vs UAA was late. Seems to me the first game would be much better for ratings/attendance. Thing is UMD was the #3 seed last year. So is it always 3 vs 6 early because the winner has to play the early game on Friday vs the 2 seed? I know the right answer is to go to all the games, but I just cant swing 2 days off in one week. Hoping to take off Friday and see UND play the late game Thursday night.

Sources close to the family are saying the Panthers are pushing hard for him to leave. I guess it isn't about Lucia/Gophers but more about them wanting him to develop on a smaller sheet of ice. He is only a freshman and obviously has some strong ties to the program so most likely he stays. Still you have to think he is around for one more year at best. No one thought Leddy was leaving at the end of last season either. I don't have any reason to think Alt is going anywhere, but I wouldn't rule it out either.

I wonder if Ness is just the first of a few Gophers to bolt early. Panthers are not pleased with Bjugstad's development and Alt could follow Leddy. Should make for an interesting off-season.
