Wait...are you saying all these schools are going to move up to FBS??? And they are to pay for that how?? Even NDSU which probably has one of the largest FCS football fan bases would not be able to afford that, let alone these South Dakota schools!! And Neb Omaha is dropping football, so not sure why you put them in there.

Does someone one here know what the new jerseys look like (if they are getting new jerseys)? If so, what's the hold up on sharing the information with everyone? Don't be that guy!!

What is crazy is we play them back to back for the next 4 years!! 2013 there is a bye week between games, but that is still pretty crazy how the scheduling worked out that way!!

I don't think I would consider a state with low crime, a budget surplus, and the lowest unemployment in the country the "worst place on earth,"....but that's just me.

II was just wondering if they are going to wait until they get the entire 20 million before they put a shovel in the ground. I guess I am just anxious for an announcement from UND that construction will begin.

So does anyone know how much money they have raised so far for the IPF? Wondering how much of the 20 miiion they want raised before they start building.

I was very happy to see our QB's and WR's play very well. Should be an exciting year offensively. One thing that definitely does need improvement is our secondary. Many receivers were wide open. If we can get the secondary issues fixed by next year, we should have a very good an entertaining team next fall!

Currently, NDSU has 3 games scheduled for their 2014 schedule. UND a lot of their schedule for 2014 figured out, but they still have open dates. Neither NDSU or UND have games scheduled for Sept. 13th or Sept. 20th in 2014. Can the AD's from both schools just do what the entire state wants them to do and schedule the long anticipated game between UND and NDSU on one of these dates? I can't be the only one to notice that these dates are open for both schools. I would hope Taylor and Faison have seen these dates open for both schools as well. I hope that the game can be scheduled. Sooner rather than later. Its been almost 10 years since this game has been played. Its time. These dates are the next available option I can see. Let get this game scheduled!!!

I sent an email to Brian Faison yesterday asking him about why there is not a logo at midfield and here was his response: As a part of the naming agreement for the facility, Alerus Financial retains the mid-field area for their logo. Brian So it sound like any concerns you have concerning your dissatisfaction with the new turf design should be directed at the Alerus Center. Makes sense I guess. Whoever has the naming rights to the turf decides what goes on the turf. Gate City Bank bought the naming rights to the turf in the Fargodome, but they decided to put the Bison logo in the middle of the fieldd as well as their Gate City Bank logo. Seems that the Alerus Center could have done this also but chose not to.

When the Gophers were playing at the Metrodome, they were able to remove pait and logos from the endzones and such between Gopher and Viking logos. I an wondering if the same thing could be done at the Alerus. Pait on the interlocking ND and then if/when we get a new name and logo, put that one on there.

Even if we were going to be called the Sioux forever, the interlocking ND logo would be more appropriate for the football turf anyway.

Makes absolutely no sense why the interlocking ND logo would not be at midfield. ZERO!! This better not be the final version!!

If we truly want to expose College hockey on a "National" level (at least for the teams in the NCHC) I think that Nebraska is the last place you would want to have the tournament. We want to have the tournament in a place that people not only can get to, but want to go to. That is what makes the Final 5 so great. St. Paul/Minneapolis is a good destination location. Omaha I am sure is great, but I don't see too many fans getting overly excited about going there. I would love to see the NCHC to rotate the tournament with the X and the United Center in Chicago!! If I am going to travel 8-12 hours to see hockey, I would much rather be in Chicago over Omaha. Chicago is a great city that people would deffinitely come to. Might even pick up some locals that would come check it out.

I would hope that the NCHC is bidding to have their tournament at the X in 2015 and 2017 (the years the Big 10 tourney is in Detroit). Curious to see where they will have the conference tournament in 2014.

Pretty sure NDSU is going to shatter that record this year. This is the first year that tailgating is allowed at the Fargodome for the spring game and they are getting their championship rings on Saturday as well. I would bet they get over 12000 for sure. All that being siad, I would love to see a lot of fans at the Alerus on Saturday!!

Question for you Dave: YOu say wou can life with the sanctions. That's fine. But do you really think that Football program can live with NEVER hosting a playoff game? Do you think that the football team can recruit when recruits know that they can NEVER host a playoff game? Don't you think this is going to affect the quality of team we are going to have? These are facts. Keep the name, no home playoff games. Maybe you are willing to make that sacrifice, but for the guys on the football team that bust their butts every day in practice and give it their all for every game, I think they deserve a chance to play a home football game if they earn it. Don't you agree??

The last time the Wild came to the Ralph to play an exibition game, there were only like 6000 fans there. That is an NHL team playing in our town. The highest tier hockey you can see. And, people in Grand Forks barely supported it. People in Grand Forks can say that they support all hockey, but in reality it is only UND hockey. Just look at the High School hockey tournament. When Red River was playing Grafton in the semi finals how many people were at that game....like 1500?? This town is a UND hockey town. Any other team would be second fiddle.

You are a fan of a name and logo, not a fan of the University of North Dakota. I get how you feel. You don't want the teams to be known by any other name. But there comes a point where you have to let your selfish desires not blind you by reality. You will take the Sioux team under sanctions, but is that really what is best for the University? Killing our athletic department so you can see your team where a cool looking jersey? Just because you don't want to change, doesn't mean UND shouldn't. Open your eyes!!

Well its a good thing that you aren't the ultimate decision maker on the issue. It is plain and simple. Ask yourself if the consequesces to keeping the name are worth it. Any educated person with half a brain would see that it is not. Sorry for assuming that you were one of those educated people. My bad.

I would think Steve Johnson would be someone that would apply for the job. He did before a few years ago when there was an opening. He might be a good option.

Yes!! Great to hear from a student who is ecited about going to UND Football!! You need to get your fellow classmates out to the Alerus next year!! I put the responsibility all on you!!! Ok, just kidding. But I think that there are going to more students like you out there next year. At least I hope. Blackout idea for the Montana game would only be cool it the football team wor black jerseys as well. I am with you...I love this idea as well. Weriously, this could be one of the biggest home games since the Bison were last in town!!

Circumstances change which allow people to change their opinions on certain subjects. Yes, many of us were for keeping the name. But after finding out information about the consequesnces of doing so NOW, we have changed our opinion on the issue based on what is the right thing to do for the athletic department and University.
