Personally, I would love to compete for a National Championship every year in football. There is ZERO chance of doing that at the FBS level. Instead of trying to be a small fish in a big pond, UND needs to focus on being the best FCS program in the country. Dreams of playing in the FBS get in the way of that goal.

Pretty sure that had more to do with building a new parking ramp east of Columbia. Do you honestly think that UND is going to build a 25000 seat retractable roof stadium? Honestly, is this what you really believe?

Nothing wrong with dreaming big, but you have to be realistic. While I agree that this program can grow and attract many more fans, the chance of UND going to the FBS and building a new 25000 seat stadium is very unlikely. I think a more realistic goal would be to build the indoor practice facility and rebuild memorial stadium to hold 15000-18000 people all while competing at the FCS level. While dreaming of playing in the FBS is bold, it is just not pratical. You be positive, I'll be realistic. Maybe we can meet somewhere in the middle.

UND moving to FBS?? Are you serious? You can't be honestly saying that with a straight face can you? 15000 average attendance? When was the last time we averaged 10000 in a season? Do you really think we can compete with FBS teams? We can barely beat NAIA teams right now!! We have tough enough games with FCS teams, not sure how we can compete at the FBS level. Even if we did decide to go FBS, I am sure there would be conferences jumping to add the University of North Dakota. And what is the benifit of playing at the FBS level? So we can have a sub 500 record every year and get blown out in most games!! I can't believe I am having this dicussion. UND playing at the FBS level??? What a rediculous statement!!

Well wherever the money the comes from, I still don't think UND can justify building a stadium that size. Look at our attendance. Even in the early 2000's we had 11000 people. I get that you are looking big picture. Heck, I would love to see 20,000+ people at a UND football home game. But the reality of that happening anytime soon is not great. If we want to get this program really going, build the proposed indoor facility. That will get better recruits to come to UND which will produce better teams and hopefully because of that, increase attendance. So like I said. Until the Alerus is selling out every game on a regular basis, the talk for a new stadium seems kind of rediculous. Lets pack out an 11000 seat stadium before we talk about filling a 25000 seat stadium.

Are you high?? Building a stadium for 25,000-30-000???!!!! Yeah, thats a great idea if you want to spend 80 million on a stadium that will be half full. Seriously. Fargo would struggle to fill a stadium that size for a game, and they have 3 times the population around Fargo than GF does. UND has acereaged under 9000 for football over the last 4 years. So I highly doubt that UND could convince the city and its taxpayers that a 30000 seat stadium would be justified. especially at that price!! Until the Alerus starts selling out on a regular basis, there is no need for a new stadium of that size.

Guy behind us always tells us to sit down after we just scored and we have not even kicked the extra poinit yet!! I am not afraid to stand up and cheer. I want others with that mindset around me!!

Just switched my tickets over. Plenty of great seats available in 215. I could basically pick my seats!! Best part is you don't have to be a Champions club member to get these seats. Just 90 dollars per seat for the season!! Great deal. Hopefully we get some loyal, true UND football fans in this section as opposed to the stiffs in 215 I have been sitting with for the last 3 years!!!

If they continue not to show up, move them to the end like they do to NDSU students at the Dome. UND students don't know how good they have it!!

Tailgating before a hockey game....that would be awesome!! This game would be great!! You would get Sioux fans from all over the country to come to this game!! I'm serious! It this game happens, I will deffinitely be there!!!

I think its great how all these Bison fans were talking up Trayvon Wright and how he can "jump out of the gym" and kept talking about his dunk against USD and that there was no way UND was going to stop him. Well, I would say 8 points and 4 rebounds is pretty much shutting him down!! Sure he can make some dunks, but he got absolutely worked on the boards. All 5 starters for UND had more rebounds than Trayvon....even 5'10" Aaron Anderson out rebounded and even outscored him!!

Great game to be at last night. Who said this isn't a rivalry??!! I hope they schedule this game every year! First half was ugly for both teams but our boys came through in the end. Ending on a 14-4 run to close out the game it was great!! Great to see all the students there last night!! Must have been close to 500 there!! Hopefully this will spark some interest in the student body and everyone else in GF so we can get the Betty rocking the rest of the year!!

Can't both fan bases just agree that this is a big game for both schools? This game was circled on both teams calenders. It's a game with your rival for many years. Yes I know we are not in the same conference, but it's a game between teams that play 75 miles away from each other that are playing for the 284th time. Instead of arguing over who it is bigger for, lets just agree that it is a big game for everyone involved: fans, players, coaches....everyone!!

More importantly, will there be Power Play Nachos!!!!

I love how Bison fans are ripping on the Big Sky....a conference they so desperately wanted to be in 5-6 years ago!!! Why was it so good for NDSU back in 2005 but now it is so horrible? What is different?

When the WCHA first started in the 50’s, there were many people saying that it was a mistake for UND to join a league where they had to travel several hours to cities far away like Houghton and Anchorage. And while Denver and Colorado Springs are big cities, they still take a long time to get there. Well looking back at that decision, I would say that UND may the right move to join that conference. Not even debatable.

The Eastern Washington loss definitely played a roll in the atmosphere in the dome last year. I am sure there will be plenty of jacked up Bison fans this year sporting their Championship gear at the Ralph!! Hopefully we will be out cheering all the Bison fans coming up for the game because we will be winning!!! Looking forward to the game already!!!

Ok, you guys have 9 Championships and we still have beaten you ore times than you have beaten us!!! And looking at the last decade before we stoped playing, we DOMINATED you. 10 of the last 13 games UND won. Can't argue that is not dominating!!!

We need to get the message to Faison that UND fans do not want to play School of Mines and that doing so could hurt our chances of making the playoffs next year. He needs to be reminded that only D1 wins count in the eyes of the selection committee. Do you part and send him a message to encourage him to schedule a game against ANY FCS school. Lets get him the message that us a s fans are serious about this issue.

With the team down the road winning a National Championship, we will need gain back some of the recruiting advantage we will lose. this will deffinitely help!! But I agree, I won't get excited until I see shovels in the ground!!

NDSU has 18, I believe. 9 football, 5 womens basketball, and 4 wrestling. Might be some track and field ones that I may be leaving out. But they deffinitely have the upper hand as fas as National Championships are concerned.

Just trying to set the record straight for those wanting to go to Canada this weekend. Don't want people to have problems at the border getting back because they were mislead or misinformed. The topic is relevant to the game becasue it involves traveling there and 100% of the people going to the game from ND will be going through Customs. I will stop talking about it. PS I could care less about my post counts. I don't live on this site.

Ok, what I meant was you were misleading people. You say that they don't need a passport. you say they only need a government ID or a enhanced drivers license. There is a small number of people with a government ID and North Dakota does not issue enhanced drivers license. So over 90% of the people in North Dakota that want to travel to Canada and get back to the US will need a Passport or Passport card or another form of approved ID. By saying that people don't need a pssport is misleading because the majority of people will. I want to set the record straight so people don't just go up with a drivers license and a birth certificate because if they do the WILL ABSOLUTELY get questioned from customs where their approved WHTI document is. Trust me bud. I know what I am talking about.
