I sorta skimmed the article rather quickly so it's possible I missed it, but I didn't see anything about oil, just natural gas production. I'd have a hard time believing they could find oil that far from the other producing areas, let alone find it at 1600 feet. It does look like there is a good potential for NG, but considering ND is already flaring 1/3 of the gas it produces, why would anyone go looking for more?

I still had hope Sparks would improve. He certainly had the potential.

I wasn't happy with the recruiting early on because of the lack of commits, however I had been posting since Bubba took over that I thought were capable of 6-6. That was until 9 more players left the program for what ever reason. Like I said, I'm just not sold on transfers, some work, some don't.

I've never been excited about bringing in Juco's or transfers. In our case now, we have no other choice, but we are throwing together a bunch of kids who nothing about each other or our program and doing it in a very short period of time. I had high expectations for us for this year, but I am now scaling back. It's really disappointing that so many of these guys didn't work out. These were mostly younger guys who should have been the heart and soul of the team in another year or two. There's really no other choice but limp through a few bad years. I just don't see a magic pill in transfers, sorry.

Something like 4-8 will be every bit as frustrating as last year. I'm just hoping it doesn't come to that.

I didn't watch the game unfortunately but I've talked a few that did and both agreed there was no flash to our play. This is disappointing as I really thought a change in attitude would be very obvious. If we are as bad as last year, or even worse, then it's going to be a very long road to improvement. I still have little faith in this last recruiting class so I'm not looking for any help from them in the near future and it sounded like Mollberg didn't show any improvement over last year. All I know is if we don't get something going soon, the death spiral will continue and we will be completely eclipsed by the other Dakota programs. Anything less than 6-6 would totally suck.

Unfortunately EWU was able to win games with their receivers. Now we don't even have that receiver corps any more.

Still, the change at the top should be generating a lot of buzz, and that's where this program needs to start. The team needs to show the fans this is different UND football and that attitude should come right now. It really worries me that we are being told not to expect anything this year. I really felt that we needed to 6-6 and no blow outs this year to be respectable and now everyone acts like the season is doomed to failure. I'd say once the team starts believing that, we truly are doomed.

Two more years of Jones will kill this program. Jones will never get us to the dance, let alone win a game. We need to step things up now rather than having NDSU continually pulling away. Unfortunately Jones will be back next year but it shouild be win big or be gone

This had better not be the case. I would think new coach, new system, new attitude. We need to improve. Geeze, so, it's OK to keep going down hill for another year? I don't think so. We need to see some uptick in this program and anything less then 6 wins isn't showing enough. Sorry, but the tail dragging has to stop.

I much prefer games starting at 1 or 2, but I can see why they are pushed back to the evening early in the season

That's the thing, why wait until things are so bad that it takes years to recover. The more I think about it the more convinced I am that Jones needs to go. It's like Muss, just do it and get it over with. When you think about next year, you know we are going to hit the skids for a few years and Jones probably won't survive a run of poor seasons. Just do it.

I was firmly in the Fire Jones camp back in about 2006 when they lost consitently to teams like Mayville State and Southwest Minnesota. I had been warming up to Jones in the last few years but now think it's time to pull the plug, especially after NDSU starting making this big run. We are light years behind them and we won't catch up doing things the way we have. Seeing as how next year is probably going be a down year compared to this year, and this year sucked in my opinion, it's time for a change. Don't do like the football team and wait until the program is completely run into the ground. Fire Jones now and let the next guy start building the program up. Anyone who says keep Jones should remember how long we clung to Muss. As to NDSU, I'll never support them or cheer for them, but I am mad as hell that they are pulling this off and we sit like like a bunch of fools watching our team do nothing.

This game is still very winnable for us, a couple shots drop our way and it's a W. There is no reason for us not to do this. Didn't these guys finish almost dead last in the Summit?

I'm alright with having to go south for pro day, but watching the tape I agree that we need to step this program up big time. The gap seems to be widening and this shouldn't be. We absolutely need to be winning the big FBS games and making the playoffs. This can't go on much longer or we'll be stuck in mediocrity forever. Hit em hard this fall.

Why would they think we're easier to beat than PSU? And you know they are going to want the weaker team to win.

I fully agree. The playin game means nothing and it's almost an embarrassment if you are in it. I'm really hoping the BSC champ gets a 15 seed to prove all the naysayers wrong about the strength of the conference. I don't understand how the BSC can be ranked as low as it is in some projected brackets.
