I have no problem with Bubba being the next coach but I certainly would have problems with Pflugrad getting hired. Granted, no one will ever know exactly what transpired at UM, however we don't need someone that controversial here.
-
So, who scored number 3 for us?
-
Marshall has always been a high pick for me, but for some reason, there hasn't been a lot of excitement for him. Personally, I'd rather have him or Bubba over Pflu.

Cagulla. Friday.

This is totally beyond stupid. When someone told me this yesterday I thought they had the facts wrong, but I guess not. I'm glad to see Hak nip it right now. Three times in 18 months shows he isn't learning and it's time to get a little more drastic.

How old is Pflugrad? Just curious.
-
That's my feeling as well. I just hope all the facts are out now so we don't get blindsided by something down the road. Faison absolutely needs to be open on this get all the details public and soon, so we can move on and put it behind us.
-
Then why all the defections? The fact that so many are leaving even before a new coach is hired tells me these guys feel the program won't improve in the short run, or they have problems with the athletic department as a whole and not just a particular coach. At any rate, it's not a good sign that so many are leaving when change in imminent.
-
That's even more alarming.
-
That guy can't even beat NDSU.
-
We don't need anyone with any off field baggage, especially after the VB incident, and that's what you would get with Plfugrad. I'm leaning towards Marshall myself. He understands Sky football and has some knowledge of recruiting in our area. I honestly think BB would be more of a case of name recognition rather than raw ability.

It's not hard to do the math when you look at it that way. As I said earlier, the truth needs to come out or the speculation will get worse. I feel the truth will be the best defense.
-
I hope the truth comes out on this, just to stop the speculation that will only continue. In most cases, the truth is a lot less juicy than the rampant rumors that pop up. Faison's best bet is come clean and move on with a good replacement.

New dead period in recruiting this year. Kicks in just about the time we should have a new guy on the ground. I'm interpretting this as no visitation rather than no contact. I think there is another dead period that starts a week before signing day. Still, this will hurt recruiting for us and yes, I'm still worried this year will be less than stellar. This doesn't give a lot of time for serious recruiting any more. http://www.sbnation....ing-dead-period

And to think all fall I told myself hockey would make me forget about football. This seems like a bad dream.
-
Did we even offer him? I didn't see his name on the wiki list.
-
Unreal............Gators must be terrible if you lose to a team that has literally no passing game. How can any team be that one dimensional and still win?
-
It was a weekend of coulda/woulda/shoulda, but really the guys looked to have a lot of fire. Just move on and remember, it's not Christmas YET.

I was in a bar this afternoon that had on the NDSU/USD game and what is scarey is the announcers said NDSU doesn't recruit, they just pick who they want. Things may not be quite that simple for them, but if it's even close to being true, we are in for a long fight before we ever even approach their level. Hopefully it was just homer announcers, otherswise I think Mussman really dug a deep hole for us.
-
"offers" + "offered but committed elsewhere"+ "committed players" = 84. If they aren't actual offers, then why call them that on wiki??
-
We have made far more than 60 offers this year. According to wiki, we have 1 commit, 56 offers pending, and 27 offerees that have committed elsewhere for a total of *84*. Yes sir, 84 offers and 1 lonely commit. But then, I was reassured a couple weeks ago that there was no reason to panic. The extra good players don't make up their minds until the signing day. I think I'll choose to worry. I hope the next coach tagets players that we need and can get, rather than doing a wholesale offering of every kid out there.

I had felt that this is going to be a long term project and should be treated that way. The problem is, there are some that think this can be changed immediately. I'm feeling that 4-7 is probably as good as it will get next year, coupled with no blow outs.
-
I agree entirely. This recruiting class is going to be a bust overall, but it's too late to change it. Get in a good guy and make sure the recruiting is done right NEXT year. I'm not buying the argument that these kids don't decide until mid January where they are going. From what I've seen, the XDSU's have gotten commits from lots and lots of kids. We'll get enough guys to fill the scholly's, but I'm not expecting a lot really top notch talent, but rather the guys that didn't get offers anywhere else.

I thought this year was an average schedule in terms of toughness and having 7 games at home made it even better. Look at next years schedule, I'd say that one will be the real meat grinder. Not only do we have UM, MSU, EWU, and UNA, we've got an FBS team right off the bat, and we don't get to play either ISU or a Valpo. This is Big Sky football and we may as well get used to it.
