  1. Seems to be a pattern here.
  2. We might be high end with academics, but when it comes to athletics most people think of the big 3, UM, MSU, and EWU, then lump the rest in a lower tier. I realize some of this is only a perception problem, but it still exists. It's still the big 3 and then everyone else when it comes to Big Sky sports.
  3. A bigger question is, are we a "high-end Big Sky school"? Not trying to bash my alma matter, but we haven't even had a winning Big Sky record in either basketball or football. I've got a feeling he wasn't talking about us. It's hard to be considered high end when we can't even get over 500.
  4. I agree fully on womens hockey. It beats me why people just keep insisting that it can or will be cut. It can't and it won't be.
  5. I don't see how we can keep putting these major facilities projects on the backs of wealthy alums. There are only so many Ralphs to go around. I really see this as being more of a pipe dream than anything else. Add to this that we aren't even doing all that well in FCS and aren't ready for the next step. I'm usually pretty supportive of whatever UND is willing to try, but I have no doubt that we are a long, long way from testing the FBS waters.
  6. But how do we fund it? Those 22 schollies added to the 85 stipends will probably put the financial picture over the tipping point. Plus, we are going to be looking at having to pump more money into mens basketball soon as well. And no, we aren't defunding womens hockey, that's pretty much a sacred cow due to Title IX. I'm not saying we won't ever move up, but the money has to come from somewhere, and right now it's not there.
  7. BSC has football, the Summit doesn't. That trumps anything else. Would we get into the Mo Valley? Who knows.
  8. Well, I would say there is about zero interest in leaving the Sky for the Summit. Ain't gonna happen and the only advantage would be travel costs. Every other advantage is with the BSC.
  9. Sweep next weekend. I can feel it in my bones, here comes the late season surge.
  10. I'm really thinking give Jones one more year, with an ultimatum. The team has to make huge improvements or he's gone, and then do it. Salary for HC and the assistants are going to have jump up or we get another ho hum guy. Just hard to get excited about the BB team, I'm sorry but that's the way it is. I still miss Dave Gunther.
  11. What was the final score?
  12. My thoughts as well, but then Jones still has a lot of time left to blow it.
  13. I'm thinking Bartels will be our starter simply because Mollberg won't be 100% by spring ball and really, Bartels was the better QB in the first place. I agree with you on Studsrud, I don't think he's quite the boy wonder some people want him to be. Maybe in time he'll get there, but it won't happen this year.
  14. I never even caught that until you mentioned it. That is more than a little disconcerting. While I really like this class, I strongly feel that there were a lot of good players we missed out on, and WI has traditionally been good for recruits. We can't be conceding whole areas like this on recruiting battles. As I said, I like what we got, but we really won't know for a couple years, and I hope we weren't just picking up what ever we could get to fill spots. Right or wrong, the lack of other offers always makes a person wonder.
  15. This is what I can't figure out. WDAY is making tons of money off our games, so they should be spending the morning pumping up our program. All I kept hearing was how this commit or that commit to NDSU had X number of offers, including an FBS school. I honestly thought I was going to throw up in my mouth a couple times. Faison needs to tell them we are an entire package, all or nothing.
  16. That was all I heard on WDAY too this morning. I thought they were supposed to be 'our' radio station?
  17. Mark for Friday
  18. OD is the man. Had him for Sioux Survivor
  19. Score? I'm too tired to look through the entire thread. Thank you.
  20. Frustrating. Should have played better early on, rather than relying on the finish to do it.
  21. Better do better than the last couple
  22. This is my gut feeling as well. No legit kid flys that far under the radar and we've all seen too many can't miss kids turn into flops.
  23. Get sued for discrimination Get another PR black eye in the media Not solved! Just made worse
  24. I'm assuming Title IX has a lot to do with us having women's hockey. Even if it doesn't, I think we need to be fair to the women and keep it going, the participation numbers are there.
