I would love to see a flow chart that follows all of the logic being given out by committee members - it would show the inconsistencies of what they are saying they used for their criteria and the chart would eventually end at UND.

Something new this year - my two favorite teams are Dayton and anyone playing NDSU.

Is it ethical to contact athletes who have committed to another school just because of a coaching change? Thinking back did that happen to UND when Mussman was fired?

Based on what we have experienced I'm not confident - what we do have going for us is a new president who hopefully won't micromanage the process. But if it's done by committee again expect the worst - and again I will say no outisde organizations - meaning the Native American Cultural Center needs to be involved.

Has the Big Sky Commissioner spoke out about this at all. If we don't get at least 4-5 all conference players this year I will say that the Big Sky doesn't care about UND and it's time for us to ask for better treatment from the conference. Don't give me you have to earn your respect because last year there were schools that had worse records than UND that got plenty of all conference recognition. I would hope the BSC is making some noise with the National Corrupted Athletic Association (which by the way would make a great sign).

One benefit of going on a three game win streak was the absence of SU drivel.

There is always a#25 team but it is hard to justify a team on a 3 game win streak being left out.

Dang we look good - however I continue to be amazed on how poor the defenses are in the Big Sky. We were there once - nice to see old time Sioux defense back.

UND is not soliciting or accepting graphic identity suggestions from other parties. The selected vendor will work with UND stakeholders to develop potential identities." There is no way that the agency that gets this proposal submits anything close to what was going around on the Internet as a hawk logo. I do hope they get the message that a Fighting Hawk doesn't have to be a bird ie: it could tie in with the school and regions aviation history.

Great idea to go with aircraft and the connection to the airbase, not to mention the strong aviation department, BUT there will definitely be bleeding hearts that object to anything related to war. Actually does the NCAA have to sign off on logos? Next thing we are going to hear is that the Native American Cultural Center wants to have a say in the design of the new logo. WRONG: Now that the logo has nothing to do with Native Americans they have no more right to be at the table than the Norwegian students or the Chinese students.

"It is the singular item that places UND on the national scene" I'm hoping you just forgot that it is a University and a place for higher learning first - with a medical school, law school, nationally recognized aerospace program....

Will be interesting to see how much the name is forced on the teams - football team has never had any name other than North Dakota on their jerseys but that may change - there is going to be a ton of "Forced Fan Fun" surrounding this name. I'll say it again there is no connection because a person's acceptance of this name and their support of UND. I hope UND keeps the use of the name subtle - I hope we never hear the sound of a screaming hawk in The Ralph.

I know it's been said but I want to say it again - UND spent tens of thousands of dollars on an outside consultant and we got "Fighting Hawks" out of it. I want to see a t-shirt that says "My Alma Mater spent $50,000 on a new nickname and all I got was Fighting Hawks".

This time a million - not even close to the process that will be required for logo development plus who made the judgement that logo is even acceptable - I think it's ugly.

Hate to throw this out there but it's a good thing - we must be on the NCAAs Nice List now because we just chose a new nickname. If we had just made the decision to go as "North Dakota" I'm saying that would have been a factor for a bubble team.
