Just wondering what makes you think it isn't being addressed? Really hope he gets it together love watching him on the court and he could be a part of a very good team over the next three years.

Why would I want to have a conversation about what players "might" leave the team when we could have a conversation about so many other positive things about this team? I'd like to hear from you why you think it would be fun/interesting/valuable/productive/supportive to list names of players who have chosen UND, worked hard for UND, made a commitment to UND but because of a "feeling" they get named on a fan site as possible flight risks thus questioning their dedication. Perhaps your goal is to be able to say "I told you so" if so that's pretty weak as players leave teams every year at all levels - it's part of the growing up process.

I realize you probably weren't connected at the time the decision was made. There has been a lot of revisionist history created about the situation at the time. Bottom line was that SU chose to move up a level which included more scholarships, higher level of recruit plus DII teams were penalized for playing teams up a level. After leaving behind a 10 year domination by UND of course SU wanted to continue the game - they now had more scholarships and were recruiting DI athletes. Based on the penalty and the unlevel playing field UND chose not to schedule but the reality is it was SU that made the decision that led to the end of the game being played. (I am sure the hovering trolls will be quick to post a different mindset but it is what it is.)

I love how the SU blather is how great having SU football in the playoffs is for the state but when the state got screwed out of a chance to have two schools in the playoffs many down south were happy about it. My two favorite teams will always be UND and anyone playing SU.

Now you are delusional - no one here that is a UND fan has ever said we were National Championship caliber. However it was quite obvious that based on what happened on the field we were better than a 6-5 team that got the nod in a backroom cluster...

Hey Poindexter - you come to a UND fan site. feed the fire and you are surprised when you read negative comments about SU? Have you ever heard what's said between SDSU/USD fans or Montana/Montana State fans? It's called rivalry talk - now if you want to read hate talk about a rival head over to Bisonswille you'll find an entire category of it. Meanwhile I still have to question why so many SU trolls take the time to come here - a fan site for the Flagship School of North Dakota that SU only plays once every four years - when you have a team playing for a national championship. So much envy and insecurity, it's like UND hurt you or something?

I was being gentle. With all the excitement we have to talk about in football how the heck did we get bogged down in worrying about someone leaving. I blame Jones.

Pretty sure they use a trip to Florida as a recruiting incentive - not sure a tournament in Sioux Falls would have the same allure. However a tournament like that over Christmas break would probably do well.

Wow - what a slap in the face to South Dakota - as an institution looking for a committed coach I wouldn't want to see any hesitation from a candidate once the job is offered.

I'm not seeing massive empty seats? There will be healthy walk up ticket sales and not many empty seats. Student section will be full at least until half-time. I guess people see what they want to see.

The jury is still out if this is a signature win - if Minnesota doesn't even make the NIT not so much - however it could qualify as an NCAA "Quality Loss" for Minnesota if USD progresses

"Crookston Rejects" let's get back to some down and dirty Sioux/Bison rivalry chants for the game this week.

They are not sitting there in a vacuum, there are coaches and players right beside them explaining the situation. I doubt any of them would think "Gee the students are booing their own nickname, I like the coaches, the facilities are great and the schools offers the degree I'm interested in but I guess I'm going to pass on the scholarship they are offering me."

I guess chat rooms are the place for discussing this - it's a free country. But really there is NO WAY there will be any knee jerk reaction like this. In fact if anyone didn't expect a rough transition they were out of touch with reality. The boos will die down, the masses will fall into place, new students will arrive each year and the only thing they will know is Fighting Hawks. The SIoux Forever crowd will remain and dwindle (over decades) - you can still find similar groups at other schools who had to change their name. Life moves on.

Nope, as per Bubba - they look at kids from their own perspective and don't care if other schools are offering, Nice to know our staff has confidence in their own talent evaluation abilities.
