A majority of Standing Rock triable members live in South Dakota. They had/have much bigger issues than voting about a logo for a school hundreds of miles away they have no connection with. The mistake was when our AG agreed to UND having to get approval from two tribes - no other school had to do that. Really doubtful it would have passed on Standing Rock.

That makes a big assumption that hockey is worried about saving money. Football players show up for basketball games, basketball players show up for football games...it ends there.

I think it needs to be cleared up that at least one of the players "he took" transferred because UND did not have the major he wanted. There is life after football

As always there is more to the story, they are college students working on an education.

All the more reason you recruit them to the school, the staff, the team, the culture, their future.

UND has a curse of its coaches doing just enough to merit extensions which keeps a program in its perpetual funk. However, pre-season results foreshadow this might have been the best we are going to see for awhile.

No reason to wish him ill will, he was all in for UND. Being able to return to your Alma Mater is how we got Schmidt to come home.

I don't think we can criticize the selection - seem to remember the NCAA wants them to just sell enough to keep the trademark, they didn't allow unlimited sales.

I agree, I remember Glass specifically was kicking from pretty far out (and won us a game or two). We don't even try kicks outside the 30. Against SDSU if we would have had a reliable kicker we could have taken the 3 in our second to last possession and then won the game in regulation on a last second FG.

One of the problems is when fans get out of the habit of going to MBB and WBB games they find other ways to spend their time and entertainment dollars. With the trends already moving away from fan attendance this just increases it. This goes double for student attendance.

Go look at the stats on most of these players it would appear UND is above their paygrade.

Reminder the "local angle" is that Montana State Head Coach Brent Vigen is a North Dakota native, graduated from Central Valley High School, Buston, ND. Downside is he is a bison.
